Re: Steam Sales
Yeah, I dunno man. I saw that thing release and just kinda facepalmed about it. PA is right up there with Starforge and Spacebase DF-9 in the short list of spectacular early access disasters, and following that up with charging a substantial amount for a glorified patch is unlikely to do anything g...

Re: Steam Sales
Don't know if it is on sale anymore, but I grabbed Planetary Annihilation for ~ 5 Euros a few days ago, and I'm having a blast just in Singleplayer. I've yet to touch Multiplayer. It's not SO DEEP (it is quite deep) and strategical as SupCom or TA but it really is fun. I've been playing it nonstop....

Re: X:COM 2
To be fair, in the temple assault you should have ghost armour and ghost grenades, there is absolutely no reason the ethereals should even know what hit them or evem mc one guy, much less four.. Probably, but i never used Ghost armor once. Never saw (or had) a need for it. Mind Control was never a ...
Re: X:COM 2
I'll only play it if they fix the randomness of the first. My most hated moment was a fight where a 1HP brute (or whatever their name) took 5 guys to kill, at 90% accuracy. Because a giant hulk of flesh and metal can apparently easily hide behind a tiny stump while being flanked from both sides. I h...

Is the contract system better now? Because the last time i played KSP, it was such a bad experience that i immediately gave up on it and de-installed it.

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
in order to make a complex combat system work within a game, there needs to be a variety of situations and enemies where you have to choose between different equipment and styles of combat. Minecraft simply doesn't have this I think this is something Mojang just doesn't realize. Minecraft simply do...

Re: Factorio: A game all about automation
I actually really enjoy playing it multiplayer, and I think it suits Factorio a lot better than other 'sandbox/survival' games. It allows multiple people to bring their own ideas into building the factories. We all have different ways of approaching problems: there are many different ways to build ...

Re: Factorio: A game all about automation
I occasionally check the development of the game, but it looks like MP is such a time sink on development that there've been no new features in ages. Whistles knowingly... ;) I wince every time I see a single player game get pressured into adding multiplayer by rabid fans late in development. Nothi...

Re: RimWorld Alpha 9
I must say i have one guy who's a good shooter, has the Careful shot trait and a Sniper rifle. You are much braver than I am. My good shooters are basically part time mobile turrets who stand behind a series of one wide walls in front of my base in the early game. Admittedly, he's the only good sho...

Re: RimWorld Alpha 9
Was a heck of a lot of fun though. Really like how the changes so far emphasize the tactical elements of the game. What kind of weapons you arm your colonists with and how you place them during a battle becomes a much bigger consideration, with stuff like having one equipped with a shotgun to take ...

Re: Surgeon General's Warning: Early Access May be a Scam
Just glad I never bought Planetary Annihilation as I'm still embarrassed about having that one in my Steam library. Was gifted to me out of the blue by an old friend that I share a common love of TA and SC with, but after playing a couple of games against each other I think our mutual opinion was &...

Re: Surgeon General's Warning: Early Access May be a Scam
I think that what few people realize is that Early Access is pretty much Investing. You put in money with the hopes that you hit the jackpot, but there's absolutely no guarantee. Most people seem to see it as a "buy future awesome game now" system. I do think the tides are changing with ne...

Re: Spatial automation games (Infinifactory, Great Permutato
I've yet to see the point in making a clock, since i finished the game without needing overly complex machines. Now i don't really feel the incentive to go back and try to beat the older levels. However, i did notice you could use the floater block to create floating plateaus and i used it quite oft...

Re: Infinifactory (and how I want it to have my babies)
I've seen it too. i thought it's part of the whole "aliens are watching" thing Thanks for the confirmation that it's actually in the game. How did it move? Did it seem to be specifically tracking your movements, or examining your puzzle? It tracks your player movement as far as i'm aware....
