Re: Which is harder: Desert or Tundra?

Not even considering the difficulty, I would say desert. Just the fact that you have to think about logistics(importing wood, dirt, etc) and have to build paths to wherever you want to go is a big plus for me because it gives my base a sense of completeness that I, for some reason, don't get nearly ...

Re: Benanov's Inhospitable Wasteland (BTW 4.56 / BWR 0.26)

Perhaps instructions on how to create our own inhospitable wasteland maps? I personally love this style of gameplay, but I'm not sure if the server map is just a super flat desert preset or something like that, so some clarification would be helpful. I'd definitely keep a minecraft.jar with an old v...

Re: A look at hardcore health balance

I noticed this, but saw it as just more reason to automate wither skeleton slaying instead of actually doing it myself. I always try to automate killing operations because spam clicking my battleaxe at something until it dies really doesn't feel like rewarding gameplay at all. I do like what Locke s...

Re: Tree Farm Questions...

Also, there have been a few threads about good tree farm designs, which I'd link if I had more than a minute to post at the moment, but I'm sure you could find them with some creative searching of the forums. In fact, if you search Razars tree farm on youtube, one of the first hits you should get is...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of Feb 11th)

I felt a great disturbance in the force, as if hundreds of poorly planned features breathed a sigh of relief at the short reprieve from FCs axe... In all seriousness though, I don't think that there's anything that I wouldn't call crap or meh, possibly aside from the functionality of emptying chest ...

Re: France or Germany?

The German food that I've had is completely fantastic, compared to French food, which I don't really have a taste for. That's just my personal tastes though, but I'd say Germany.

Re: Automatic large mushroom farming?

My point was the use of the hibachi for getting rid of the extra blocks, not the use of BDs in the farm :P
If hibachis work for burning off mushroom foliage, then couldn't you make a pusher farm for them and use a hibachi to get rid of the extra blocks?

Re: Automatic large mushroom farming?

Battosay had a modification to his basic BD tree farm design that included a hibachi to burn off the remaining leaves. I'm not sure if large mushrooms burn, but if they do, then this would be a solution

Re: The potential of lighting

I think the original point was to make it so that no lighted area is safe if you leave it for long enough, no matter how well lit it is, and having them spawn only in darkness would mean that you could make an area completely safe. I think partially preventing their spawn with something other than l...

Re: The potential of lighting

I think everyone misunderstood my post :( I'm not talking about unlit torches relighting when Steve comes near. Unlit torches stay unlit. I'm talking about the fact that torches near Steve don't go out. They don't go out because I imagine he just casually relights them as he walks past. In any case...

I think it would be a wee bit tricky to make something automatically add to your inventory feel natural within the btw and minecraft environment. Other than that I don't really have much else to say about it as I'm sure you're mulling it over and you'll figure it out one way or another :) I think t...

Re: Sound Sensor?

Zombies will path towards villagers so you can use that mechanic to filter out zombies, and if you use snow golems for the skeletons, you're left with only creepers as long as your trap doesn't support spiders and endermen, but they're easy to separate from the rest
