Okay, and now what the fuck can I do with butter and cheese? Why would I make cheese instead of farming the cows I got the milk from?

I guess they could be used as a replacement for the breeding harness, but I honestly don't give a fuck, I haven't used pretty much any vanilla features since 1.8.

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
The villager noises aren't too bad individually, IMO. They just happen way too frequently to not be annoying, however.
The horses on the other hand sound like a cross between a bad subwoofer, a whoopee cushion, and a growling attack dog. Is it just me?

I can't offer an expert opinion, but I will say that my nooblet ears really like what you've made. I'd definitely look for anything else you've made.

Peaceful Penalties? (Spoilers?)
I heard some time ago that FC made changes to the game to dissuade players from using peaceful mode with BTW. I can't find anything in the changelog about this, so I can only imagine it's a secret or I've just been lied to. Is there any truth in the statement?

Re: Creeper oyster chemistry. (release thread spoilers)
To reiterate a point made by Thalarctia, I don't think that the chemical composition of the Oysters is particularly significant. This is different from the other secret recipes in that it isn't actually a secret, there's no figuring out to be done by the player. Creeper Oysters as I see them are jus...

Re: Vanilla Feature court - Session 1 - Analog Redstone
Analog Redstone is a cool idea. The implementation, however, is very poorly designed and isn't anything we couldn't do in BTW without some tinkering (at least as far as I can tell).
Personally, I wouldn't want to waste my time on this. Make of my opinion what you will.

Re: Speculating on BTW's story and narrative.
I think the main crux of the mystery in BTW, at least for me, is the End realm. Minor spoilers ahead. The facts: -The terrain is composed of obsidian (cooled lava) and brimstone-crusted marble. This is intriguing, because brimstone is a component of the 'classical' biblical hell, whereas the nether ...

Re: Any reason for no torchlight?
Because it is really laggy and intensive on the minecraft engine. Every time you move, every block affected by the torchlight has a block update.
It's also a feature not a lot of people would use, because if a place is dark and you need to light it up, you would be wanting to hold a sword.

Re: Speculating on BTW's story and narrative.
The fact that the church windows are broken (but no other buildings) indicates that something religiously significant to the testificates is involved in the event which led to the abandonment of the villages. BTW as a whole has shown a very cool trend of pseudo-occult/supernatural features and impli...
