Re: Rpg Verses Default Texture help.
A double thank you Panda. I use your texture pack as I'm too lazy to edit and love it so much. As a little tip when you're going to do more textures that often repeat: You have a little "repeating" pattern inside the stone which looks pretty neat up close, but as you can see on the left si...

Re: Are we all idiots?
With the definition of Idiots being anyone below average intelligence, it cut's the whole thing down to half the population. If you count in people who make stupid mistakes, you pretty much covered the whole population. We do that. Everyone does. Luckily the stupid mistakes get less the older you ge...

Sweet jebus.
Looks amazing.... I already hope this is no set multi-block apparatus.
I also hope there will be a mc mod api... that furnace cries out for a hopper above and one under the output! :D

Re: Question on my elevator design.
Highschool is obviously not the place for that for a multitude of reasons. Despite that: Yes, lense is the way to go. Use a single pair and maybe try pistons to block the beam when you're on the right level. I haven't dug trough the picture as it is a pain to do so, so I don't know if you already ha...

Re: A way to mark land on sea travelling
What you mentioned about lily-pads and blocks above is worth noting though, as it means I'll have to make this thing relatively cheap to keep it a viable alternative. It depends on the world. Lily pads only occur in swamps as far as I know and as I mentioned, they are a depletable ressource. In an ...

Re: A way to mark land on sea travelling
I use them, then place a block over the lilypad and then a torch on said block. It's not a simple one block place (but neither is pillar building), but it works out fine for me. I have nothing against a buoy though :) Edit: On a second thought, I don't think there is a way to grow new ones. I never ...

Re: Design Discussion: Anyone care about redstone emitting l
As long as powered redstone is clearly distinguashable, I don't care. The lighting on these has no gameplay impact for me whatsoever. As far as I know they don't even emit a red dyed light, so I don't think people use them to mark places based on the lighting colour. I might be wrong though. So, as ...

Rare drops from player killed monsters outside grinders
As the title says. Monsters rarely dropping useful items if killed by a player under circumstances commonly not found in a mob grinder. Including, but not necessarily confined to: Above sea level / sees sky. Dropped items should be otherwise unaquirable or expensive and from the lower tech levels / ...

nah, I don't think it's just a perceived increase.
I'm playing this mod since more than a year and it never felt the way it does right now.
But anyway. I guess I just go waterwheel for convenience.

Rain Rain Rain
Is it just me or is it raining suspiciously often? I didn't have a single dry day in a while in my world so I was wondering if this is some hidden "feature" that was added by the mod or if I am just unlucky. I think it would make sense in a way to encourage the use of water power. So... do...

I think of the whole thing as neat playing.
It'a pretty awesome, but I think it's more like popular science than actually practical science.
I might be wrong though and I got to give him that he probably has the best pickup lines on the planet now.
Wrestle a bear and you might come close.... :D

Re: Superluminal speed
Yes, but the time that followed (last 40 years I think), kinda showed it is not applyable to human societies in general. I live on a continent with immense ressources, a decent social stability, relative equality in terms of distribution and... here comes the point... population decline. Even though...

Oh wait! I think I do remember! Keep in mind this was 25 years ago, and I was probably still to young to fully process most of it ;) That was the whole deal with the Butlerian Jihad, the outlawing of computers, and the creation of Mentats and Navigators, correct? Basically, their own technology alm...

Re: Superluminal speed
Of course, reading into it a bit more, it seems to mention that we still need exotic matter than can travel faster than light for this to be possible. Damn, and I was so excited. Lol Even though it says exotic matter, the basis of what is needed is a portion of space having a negative energy value....

Re: Superluminal speed
That's the beauty about the concept of the drive. It doesn't touch the credibility of relativity, no change needed, even in the event of a success.
It's about moving and warping the space around a potential craft, not the craft itself, so relativity isn't compromised.

Re: Superluminal speed
Actually, it is a guess and yes, it is a pretty good one. It's just nowhere near completion. It is true the mode of communication we use utilizes relativity to a certain extend, but it is actually minor by now. The major part of computer and communication technology relies on quantum effects at the ...

Re: Superluminal speed
Well, there is a pretty obvious goal, or billions, just look up and you see them at night. As more concrete goal it is acess to space and ressources as well as research opportunities on the practical side. And as a little addition: Why not? As for the theory of relativity... that thing is pretty pro...

Superluminal speed
I think a lot of people here are interested in tech, so this might be interesting for some. After the likely discovery of the higgs field at CERN, I had the slight hope of the opening opportunity of faster than light travel, only to be disappointed after a pretty short look at relativity, as this po...

Re: Enderpearl exploit may break hardcore spawn
I think the use of this is so narrow and skill based, it actually could count as a feature. It is practically only useable outdoors and in a fighting scenario you know you gonna loose in the next 5 seconds (or less). So... I actually like the possibility. Indoors the pearl would hit a surface too so...

Basically... What do you enjoy more? As for me, it is more of the PVE, something I find really lacking in Minecraft. The environment is pretty toothless as it is and I'm quiet exited about what FC will do to the endermen in the future. I loved the world I started in, as I soon found a village with o...

I love to build villages, I love to trade, I love my little sheepy like squidwards. What I don't like is that these guys just move around and completly ignore the buildings I made for them. I would really like some sort of block villagers bind to and stay there during the day. Like an altar block fo...
