Exactly, how does one go from Happy Feet to Fury Road is surely interesting!
He has said on multiple occasions that Pinocchio is one of his favorite movies too. The 40ties Disney one.

And the stuntwork man! I haven't seen stuntwork like that in ages! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p86oL3TbQvs Miller is one crazy man I gotta say. Must be the Greek blood in him :P Yeah overall it far exceeded my expectations, given that the last time Miller visited the Mad Max world was exactly 30...

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road
I am still speechless. I expected a tries-to-be-but-fails attempt at the 80ties mad max movies feel. Yeah, I am wordless. Fucking epic movie. Max had very little actual dialogue, and that is the best thing, because otherwise nostalgia and melgibsonitis would be an issue. I haven't got the slightest ...

https://www.humblebundle.com/ What is in the new bundle? Games you should have! World of Goo Super Meat Boy Limbo Braid Risk of Rain Antichamber I love all of the above games, the titles speak for themselves. Problem is, they are probably already in your collection :P Also included Dustforce DX - ne...
Re: X:COM 2
To be fair, in the temple assault you should have ghost armour and ghost grenades, there is absolutely no reason the ethereals should even know what hit them or evem mc one guy, much less four..
Re: X:COM 2
Yeah I'm a big fan of the new voiceovers, they bring a much needed air of freshness to the game. Firaxis themselves game the modders all the required info on how to make new voiceovers and insert them in the game so as to sound similar to the others, hehe.
Re: X:COM 2
The difference is, C/I vanilla's difficulty comes from the randomness of the game, the player has limited tools to work with, and often it is just down to the rngesus to bless you. I/I in vanilla (enemy within included) is 4 dudes hankering in heavy cover every turn (heavy shoots and hankers down wi...
Re: X:COM 2
Xcom is still popular only because of the Long War mod. Up until the announcement of xcom 2, 19 out of 20 posts in /r/xcom were about long war and not vanilla. The xcom devs are well aware of the popularity of the mod, Jake solomon himself praised it, and said it made the game better in every way. I...

Re: Have you guys heard of Terasology?
I seriously cringe when I see statements like this from devs, because it usually means the opposite is true by a landslide..like minecraft, but with a much better game engine

So Mojang released an april fools troll snapshot, but it contains a hidden QR code Dinnerbone stated is not a troll, and was hoping would not get discovered this fast due to it being april fools and all. When scanned the code supposedly says "Minecraft 1.9: The Combat Update" http://www.re...

Re: Factorio: A game all about automation
It's easy to want a multiplayer mode for sandbox or survival games, because the main concept of those games lends well to playing with a friend. But as mentioned, it comes with an obvious cost. Factorio on the other hand is neither survival really, nor true sandbox. I really can't see why such huge ...

So this is old news but I just stumbled across it: http://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-74 Endgame brainstorming The ideas for the endgame content are slowly crystalizing. With kovarex, we have spent quite a few tram rides back home in the evening by talking about it. On top of it yesterday we have...

No assless chaps love? :p Also I fondly remember the introduction of bloodwood trees and how it blew my mind. Other fond memories include the expansion of the block dispenser from 3x3 slot grid to 4x4, the epic introduction of the long awaited lens, helping name nether groth by pointing out the miss...

Re: Series - The 100
LOL. I've read about this series and this A tad too teen-drama for my taste, and definitely groan-inducing as a result on several occasions was exactly my impression of it and that put me completely off. And then you go on about hard sci-fi, orbital stations and mad max, and lotf, and now I want to ...

Re: Medieval Engineers
I think you as a developer can especially appreciate how the whole early access thing can make developing viable for a small indie studio. It makes risks smaller, and helps build a closer connection between devs and players (which has its ups and downs for both) All said I think ea is a very positiv...

Re: Medieval Engineers
If you ask me, it's bad form to start up a new project when you have an unfinished one, when you are a small indie team. Sometimes you can get away with it, for e.g. if all art and sound is done on the main project, some people do not have a job to do, but how many small dev teams have many dedicate...
