Re: Castle Build - progress display

Ill make a new video today :). My original plans for the "ballroom" with the walls opening through pulleys won't be in though. It doesnt look that great with the platforms as walls, so I will have to think of something else! :) Also getting stuck with my elevator and 3 stops. I know the pr...

Boooo, you beat me to it! :(

When placing a gearbox, it has little arrows on 1 side of it. Those arrows have to face the direction that the power is comming from. It sounds like this is not the case for you right now. :)

Re: Making videos

What programs are good for recording videos? I personally use FRAPS. What programs are good for converting videos? I use Windows Live Movie Editor - very easy to use and works as well. The benefit of this for me, is that I can very simply add frames before/after with information, and use a few defa...

Re: Stuck on a redstone project

... genius! :D Power to the pulley, why on earth did I not try that? I always hooked up my circuits to the gearboxes :D.

Re: Stuck on a redstone project

But how to make it "STOP" on a certain level? I don't understand the mechanics behind that. If I turn the gearbox on, it goes up - if it's turned off - it goes down.

So how do I make it stand still on a level not at the top or bottom?

Re: Stuck on a redstone project

I am absolutely lost on the pictures you showed :( I just tried setting up a very basic multi level with the following: RS nor latch connected to the top gearbox to turn on/off. At a certain height I had a detector block that was connected to a block dispenser to add/remove redtone in the circuit to...

Re: Stuck on a redstone project

This should show you how to setup multi floors with buttons/detectors. No explenation in the sound though, so have to keep an eye on the redstone circuit! :)

Re: Castle Build - progress display

I just had a cool idea for my "Grand hall". It will be fit with pillars on the sides, that will house big platform gates. Those will be down by default, but can be pulled up to open the hall even more! Ballroom parties! \o/

Re: Castle Build - progress display

Ah cool! :D Thanks. :) As mentioned before I don't see myself redoing the big bridge I have now, as I kinda got used to it and like it. :) But that defenitally opens up possibilities!! That also explains why my first attempts at the "underwater bridge" failed so miserably. I was doing it s...

Re: Castle Build - progress display

Could you please explain how the 5 block rule works? Is it like this: | [][][][][] [] = platform block | = anchor. So 1 anchor can pull 5 blocks in total, or a 5x5 platform? And yes, I could test this myself. But sadly I am without MC for another few hours, until my lunch starts :P. I have to do wit...

Re: Your Best Design Pics and Vids

That staircase is sublime, and the design is so simple!! I LOVE IT! :D Oh I can think of quite a few cool ways to use that :D. WIN!
The only thing that I would like to change on it though, is a halfblock. So you don't have to jump up the stairs :)

Castle Build - progress display [UPDATE: 20/09]

Hiya all! :) The BTW mod finally allows me to build a proper castle, the way castle's are intended - awesomely! :) With this in mind I started a new build, and am recording in between sessions with the progress. I thought it might interest others to see the progress as well, so I will update this th...
