Re: Nether mob farm help
Still don't quite understand how nether fort spawns work. Stuff I do know: 1) nether forts come in "units", which have bounding boxes. 2) Due to changes in BTW 4.54, nether fort mobs can spawn anywhere within those bounding boxes. 3) nether mobs can only spawn on nether rack and nether bri...

Re: Nether mob farm help
There's a height limit to nether fort regions? I'm planning some cheapskate RS low/free nether farm designs, so this info might be really important.

Re: Strategies for finding villages and trading with village
Can't help much on the finding villages part, other than placing down lots of netherside portals and keeping some obsidian and a lighter handy when you do find one. Trading, on the other hand, I can share some tips (which I stole from other people on this forum). 1) Shopping List: Book and Quill is ...

I'm in the same stage as you in my single player world, and I've taken to building completely random things while waiting for my resources to grow. The builds thread has some of my recent work. Alternatively, find some BTW or MC related myths to test and go science better ways to do things for futur...

So I've been working on both aesthetic and mechanical stuff recently. Wielding a sword of mincing! http://i.imgur.com/1u4uSge.png Built in a testing world, since I needed some space to math the tape length. Once I get the materials to build this, its going to time the machine I use to make clay ball...

My grinder's the grey square in the middle of the maps, with the green dots on top. the thing(s) in the lake are the farm deities I posted on the builds thread a while back.Taleric wrote:I love it man! Your area is very alive, is that complex over the lake a grinder?

The (un)Silent Cartographer
So after seeing map walls on youtube let's plays and even more recently on this forum, I've started making a map wall myself to see how large my main base's domain is. Turns out its not really all that big. Size 1 maps are really easy to fill, and most of my operations fit in 2 of those. The rest is...

Can't. Accidentally sacrificed myself in lava, along with 5 stacks of hemp seeds. I'm out in the middle of nowhere atm. Shedding blood will have to wait.

Re: Game Design - Incremental Games
Just finished zone 160 and finally caved. Ascension!
Mostly because I wanted to try out mercenaries.
Have to admit things are a lot faster now. Still not anywhere close to my previous level of progress though.

Still accumulating levels then. My HS counter for this ascension is only at 14. Status update: Treebeast is at 1025, and Ivan is 975. I'm a sad existence that is perfect for skinnerboxing. Also, nearly cleared zone 160. Which I probably will before ascending. Now that I know what a deep run is, I ca...

Re: Game Design - Incremental Games
heh. okay then. good to know I haven't overly gamed the system to broken levels. Nearly have treebeast at lv1000, and he's got 2 gilds on him from beating some bosses. Frostleaf still does most of the damage though. Currently just past zone 150. energize+superclicks+critclicks makes a lot of differe...

I've never had any issues with Dolphin. However, the trouble is getting the ROMs, as to get them you'd have to either rip it yourself or find somewhere to download them from. I've used Dolphin myself. Finished Tales of Symphonia on it. I can testify that it works well. FYI twilight princess is Wii,...

cool design for a vMC mobfarm
This is really quite smart for a mobfarm design. cheap too.
unfortunately not viable in BTW due to snow golems not dealing knockback. Still cool though.
any thoughts on how to make it BTW viable?

Slightly disappointed that it wasn't called deadpool, considering recent discussions.
Bravo on the road, however.
I'll get back to the drawing board on interesting ideas to send your way.

Re: Looking for building/project suggestions
So I've watched a bit of ep 5 of your letsplay, and you seem to enjoy simple but aesthetically pleasing builds. My Suggestions: Acquire a hoe and several more torches. Build a nice farm/garden thats pleasing to look at. Carve out the Hills between your taiga base and your house on the hills area. bu...

Re: Gravel and soul sand
Not sure about the "bug or feature" part but soulsand is 7/8ths of a block tall and thus may be categorized as "not a full block", like slabs and other non-blocks like torches. Tested: Sand doesn't break when falling on soulsand, but slabs do. issue confirmed. Not sure how soulsa...

had the same problem a while back. Fixed it by moving the netherside portal to align with the overworld one.
(It's really finicky and can take a lot of tries to get right. I did it mostly through trial and error. you might want to use a gamey solution to make things easier.)

Re: Block ID and Metadata List: A Reference for CTM, etc.
that was more of a testcase.
my TP doesn't use bow+arrow sprites so I'll be loading it with auras and the like. enchant overlays aren't limited to the tool shape and can spread over.
The bow string color was simple and obvious which is perfect for testing.

I think I'm realizing that having a conversation about relative value with an international crowd gets rather difficult. Perhaps we should convert everything to a potato standard for the sake of this discussion? :) I read this and thought of potatoes as a currency. that was a confusing minute. Big ...
