Re: mobtraps and how 1.8 might destroy them

It should be pointed out that Notch and Mojang have been very upfront that MineCraft as we know it has always been the tool they are using to build an actual game. As in, an experience with clear objectives, rules, and a way to "win" - comparable to other games currently on the market. He...

Re: conveyor belts ( Glasses strange properties )

Whisp: Yes, it's the exact same principle. Nice video btw! Glass seems to work the same way (Yes you can push items into it with water). Now there's no need to spend lots of mossy stone on an archimedes screw when this does the same thing and is a lot cheaper. I guess it's better to use halfsteps as...

Re: conveyor belts ( Glasses strange properties )

Yes, the problem was I hadn't timed it properly so the piston that was supposed to push the items into the glass retracted before the glass was pushed upwards. Now it's working just fine. Both pistons and leading a water stream to the glass works as a loading mechanism, and the beaty of it is that y...

Re: conveyor belts ( Glasses strange properties )

Ok so, after reading this, i did some testing. I'm not sure how you manage to get the items to stick between the glass blocks. However, I created a similar machine where every other block was a solid block of any kind (I used wool) and had glass in between them. The pistons are powered from a turnta...

Re: mobtraps and how 1.8 might destroy them

This may affect vanilla MC, but for BTW, won't Flower be able to just change this, at least for BTW killing methods anyway? Saws are the preferred method for me, and I think he could simply make the game see saws as a "player kill". I'm fine with the XP not collectible from traps though, ...

Re: Hemp Texture Error?

I GOT IT WORKING! Ok, so after I reinstalled a fifth time I got it working. it seems that somehow I didn't clean out all the mods when I did a "force update" for a fresh .jar. This time I deleted the entire bin catalogue and worked from there. Everything is as it should now (at least I th...

Re: Can we tone the Notch-Bashing down please?

To be (somewhat?) on topic when it comes to story in games. One of the things that has struck me as extremely odd is the fact that MMOs tend to evolve in that direction as well. Scripting, storytelling, instancing etc are all things developed to increase "immersion" and easier deliver the ...

Minecon - What are your thoughts?

So, this Minecon business. What do you guys think about it? Is it a particularly good or bad idea? Why? Will you go? So, personally, I don't have much of an interest in this sort of event. I've never attended Blizzcon even though I've played pretty much every game they've made (and enjoyed most of t...

Re: Hemp Texture Error?

Ok, so I tried manually removing all the contents of the btwmodtex folder in minecraft.jar and adding what was in the same folder in the latest BTW .zip but I just got a blackscreen from doing so. I then proceded to install everything again on a fresh minecraft.jar (This time using your method of in...

Re: Hemp Texture Error?

Thanks for trying but that is not it. BTW is the only mod I use beside the HD Patcher so here are the mods, version and the order I used. Fresh minecraft.jar 1. ModLoader Beta 1.7.3 2. MinecraftForge Client 1.0.6 3. BTWMod 2.94 4. Patched with mcpatcher-2.1.0_02 While typing this I had a look inside...

Re: Hemp Texture Error?

I came here looking for another potential hemp texture problem. I just noticed that the hemp in my world is the exact same textures as wheat up until the harvestable stages of the plant. Now, this is as it used to be, but since FC added the new btwterrain01.png there's been unique textures for all ...

Re: Sugarcane farm (compatible with hemp)

Wouldn't work well enough for me because the minecart would be sent but the hoppers keeps dropping some canes. Then the minecart cannot return back under the hopper because canes are in the way! Thx for your reply anyway! Couldn't you just send a redstone signal to the gear box powering the hopper ...

Re: New Release! (Version 2.93)

Now now...they're obviously putting a lot of work into 1.8 and they also have to contend with SMP support for anything new they add (which I don't as of yet). Now, I just wanna say that this is not intended to bother you in any way, but SMP support is something I've been looking forward to since th...

Re: New Release! (Version 2.93)

WoW! That's a lot of cool stuff! I recently deleted my legit worlds for various reasons, the biggest one being that I want to start a new one as soon as 1.8 hits and a compatible version of BTW is released. I figured I'd spend time on finishing up my BTW-texture pack until then, but I guess I'll hav...

My fav is Dokucraft, but this is since broken by forge ofc.

Tnx
I'm pretty sure Battosay's Texture Pack Mix is up to date. It uses mainly textures from Dokucraft and John Smith's Texture Pack if I'm not mistaken.

Hey man, even if zombie flesh doesn't have any useful properties as is, I can see it being a stellar addition to my fledgling alchemy system.... Re: Notch is back at It again Better than food eating animat

I had more or less set my mind on giving up Minecraft once 1.8 was released... but then I saw the PAX footage and got a lot calmer about it tbh. While things like experience points, food bar, larger biomes, new bigger dungeons etc seemed quite rudundant at first in comparison to a more useful Nether...
