MC transportation in my eyes is perfectly fine, I only have issues with boats being too unwieldy, but other than that for short distances carts work fine, for large distances there is always the nether.
(If only we could use rope to somehow secure boats to say fences or something..)

Re: M!C's News Compilation
So... Is there any word on when notch is going to fix that bug where you randomly start moving and you can't stop it without hitting escape? Well the plan according to them is keep working on features till the 18th of October, then go on code lock and work on bug fixing and polishing. EDIT: ThatTom...

Re: TNT for fishin'
You can just time it so it explodes in the water I guess. Shouldn't be too hard.KriiEiter wrote: You realize the TnT drops through the signs too, right?
I suppose if it's deep enough/dropped from high enough it wouldn't be a problem.
EDIT: Now I have to go and build one, look what you've done! :]

This would actually be more fun to have on SMP, provided it had low profile as not to be seen easily, hehe.

Re: TNT for fishin'
But with the item dispenser its actuallly easy to make a automatic canon Hah, yeah, why I keep thinking vanilla when I'm in a mod's forum is suprising to me too. Anyhow, the size of the water is irrelevant, you can simply have the primed tnt drop in a big water mass suspended in signs. Very simple ...

Re: TNT for fishin'
You could suspend water on signs so the item fish drop down to your collection system*, but the only non BC automation I can think of is having pistons push a long chain of tnt (with sand/gravel stacks or cobble generator) with a slow clock timer to a detonator, then tnt drops in water, goes boom, f...

Re: question about future of detector blocks
Eh, Lever that runs up with a column of block redstone torch alternating? I mean vertical wiring is a staple of vMC http://www.minecraftwiki.net/images/f/f2/Redstone1x1up.png Then run the output with some redstone dust on top of the first gearbox and you're golden. When you do get a detector block j...

If we give FC an arbitrary large amount of time and resources minecraft is going to become a really morbid place to live :P
And btw human flesh and animal leather are really not nearly similar are they?

Re: Block dispencer + fishing rod = ?
Fish are the most readily available food source actually, as long as you have a rod and some water you have an infinite supply of fish. No need for animals to spawn or something to grow. It is just that fishing is very boring and cannot be automated at all, and aside weird circumstances like yours, ...

Re: New Release! (BTW V2.96)
Is such a minor thing worth the inherent problems of further tweaks of vanilla functionality though? If FC further consolidates tools as he seems to be planning to, it will be trivial to always have the right tool at hand. I mean axe and sword in one tool and shovel and pick in another pretty much g...

jeb_ Jens Bergensten At today's meeting @notch suggested that should keep doing prereleases all the way to Minecon, so my previous tweet about 1.9 is obsolete :) Hmm.. I don't really like this tbh. But it might be the only realistic way of them getting things done in time.. Guess I'll stick with 1....

I always though bonemeal was kinda wasted on wheat when I could use it on saplings :P
Wheat grows fast enough, and you can make a huge farm that will actually keep you fed for many mc days with one harvest. Food is never a real problem in MC for me.

Re: Block dispencer + fishing rod = ?
Ah, fair enough, I'm still on 1.7.3 (not a fan of terrain generator changing a lot, waiting it to be finished, plus I hate endermen) so I'm using an older version of BtW. (And it is getting increasingly difficult to use BtW because functionality changes and I sometimes have a hard time finding infor...

Re: Block dispencer + fishing rod = ?
If you want to add a way to automate fishing, you could possibly do it with a pulley. Eh, at the moment there is no real reason to want to automate fishing, other than having a stock for if/when they are more useful. It was more about having fun with the other rod function ( in automated mechanisms...

Re: Block dispencer + fishing rod = ?
The general underlying logic with the Block Dispenser is that it places blocks but does not use items. Without that, it opens up a whole can of worms like the use of bone meal (which I'm definitely never going to allow). Yeah hmm, you are right. The rod is pretty much harmless but you are right on ...

Re: Drugs in minecraft.
I think it's pretty obvious that I have a different vision for minecraft survival than most. I don't want magical potions and enchantments. I want down to earth believable ways to do things. Example TNT. You combine sand and gunpowder. First off TNT does not use gunpowder and sand has nothing to do...

Block dispencer + fishing rod = ?
I did a quick search and didn't find anything on this. Right now the Block dispenser and the fishing rod do not interact afaik. It would be intresting if they did. IE throwing the line when powered, and retracting it when un-powered. The obvious use would be automated fishing, but much more interest...

I use glasses too. I really hate contact lenses with a passion (plus my body seemingly does too)
Thing is due to my condition I may well be forced to use semi-rigid lenses at some point in the future and that prospect scares me to hell.

Eh, it is not actually THAT bad, but it struck me as a big contrast with the rest of the stuff I did later on with this mod. I fully understand FC philosophy of not giving things away for free to players or making them too easy, and I couldn't agree more. It could be just me, but after a year of pla...

Add to that fences, obsidian (though this is rightly so in SMP, in SSP..it's just a huge pain in the rear end) and furnaces (try moving an array of furnaces, say 5x2..*shudder*) Fences are already taken care of by the axe tweaks . Obsidian...well, I do intend to make this thing SMP, and I'm not goin...

Breaking block dispensers. Re: Annoying and repetitive task ?
Hello everyone ^^ In vMC the most tedious thing ever is hollowing out large areas underground. Mind numbing. Also inventory management is quite tedious, especially if you are as chaotic as I am. In BtW gameplay, I found handcranking enough hemp to get a windmill up and running so tedious I will inved...
