He already said "no" on the mud idea, it's in the FAQ I believe.

Re: BTW: Design Philosophy

I still think steam is something too complex for btw's code and vM's code to handle. I don't see how it would be more complex than redstone or mechanical power. I think steam technology is highly likely at this point with the addition of bellows, tallow and extended metallurgy (which the bellows an...

Re: Math /flee

You can ask me in Dutch too, I'm from Belgium as well :) EDIT: I would like to point out that for programming, no linear algebra knowledge is required. Discrete math is much more prevalent, which is a different beast altogether. Vectors and matrices come in when you start doing 3D stuff, which frank...

Re: FC's opinion on add-on mods

I was able to properly recompile everything, so this project is now officially feasible. Next step is setting up a coding environment that can decently cope with the frequent BTW updates.

EDIT: Oh and btw, I will not discuss any details regarding the BTW code itself, don't even ask :)

Re: FC's opinion on add-on mods

Thank you for the input guys. I imagine I'll have to try to keep attachment as lightweight as possible, but that doesn't seem to be much of a problem, since you actually seem to follow a fair bit of OO paradigms, which is no small feat, considering the ugly mess that is vanilla source. Thank you for...

FC's opinion on add-on mods

I have a few small ideas that are probably slightly more time invested than what FC would work on (or slightly out of the BTW scope). I'm willing to create these as small add-ons to BTW. Does anyone know FlowerChild's opinion on stuff like this? - I will not have any BTW code in my mods - I will not...

Re: New Release! (BTW Version 2.70)

Yeah, and a button has the correct delay out of the box, so a button can simply toggle the memory cell without extra redstone.

Re: New Release! (BTW Version 2.70)

Found another new use. One block with two rs-torches on top of the turntable make it act like a T flip flop. A very very compact T flop flop :)

Re: New Release! (BTW Version 2.70)

After playing around, I kinda miss a faster time. I'd love to able to make one button press do a 180° turn without having to play around with delays. Not that it's hard to create, it's just a shame I have to start using repeaters and gates just to make a turntable that has two states (very handy).

Yeah, I just dumped most of what we said in this thread. I agree though, the mass furnace is the most usable idea of the bunch

Re: Unofficial Suggestions List

This is an idea from IRC, chat between Triskelli and I: - Steam/iron age, similar to mechanical power, just a way to transport the next age's power - Focus on even more automation through engines - Mass ore smelter to mirror cauldron (fuel + steam power?) - A block that converts steam into mechanica...

Well, more like differentials I guess. Wrong word usage

I just realized that these allow for vertical redstone too, something to use until lenses come around :)

Re: Spawner discussion

I'm already running Risugami's, that's not the point. I'm trying to find something useful to do with this simple block. I get it that spawners are overpowered, so let's think of an easy way to interact with them, without it being overpowered. Right now, we have a vanilla block that has no use and a ...

Spawner discussion

Hi there, first post here, I have been lurking for a while though. I'd like to have a discussion about spawners. It's obviously a very fun block with lots of fun uses (grinders, traps, finding them, etc). The only problem with it is, it's kind of a one trick pony. I know BTW is mod that aims to corr...
