Re: Zombie Shovels?

Agreed, but from the wiki anyways it doesn't appear any mob drops picks. Where did you end up finding the list? I scoured the wiki and couldn't find an actual list of drops It didn't look like the page had a complete list (didn't list shovels after all), the only thing I saw was icons for armour an...

Re: "Anniversary Update" Speculation

So how long has the MCF OP called the steel and above age "[*** A New Age Dawns: The Return To Home ***]"? Oho! Never noticed that. So, what can we consider as steve's home then? This is making me think of a Karma thing, where Steve has to redeem himself from his spirit-prison world (vMC)...

Renaissance? Are you adding some Da Vinci-esc contraptions? Or was this just a reference to revitalising our MC experience?

Re: Morvelaira's MC News Compilation

EDIT: I'm very tempted to say more at this point, but will give a very small spoiler instead: for those in doubt, I was waving goodbye in that vid ;) Everything you say is consistent with a new dimension. The only thing that makes me question that is what about the nether? It will be replaced by th...

Re: New phone!

As soon as CM9 is released for my Android phone's model, I'll be modding it, Cyanogen ROMs offer a lot more features than the stock Android ROM, and without carrier bloatware. Plus they'll probably beat the carrier to releasing ICS for it! Previously I had the second released model of Android phone ...

Skeletons are why I put grates in my windows until I can afford glass And why sand is one of the first three things I collect if possible. I'm enjoying the let's play, I'm amazed at how calm you sound, I think this may be why people think of Glados as you have yet to sound too excited even when spr...

For me a smartphone is a convergence device for useful things to carry around; web browsing, game system, music player, calendar/task list, calculator/currency converter, camera... The phone feature is a nice to have if I need to contact someone else or if there is an emergency. Most of my communica...

I am using the multi-core version of optifine and well whenever I install it then try to load a world I get the same error and when I don't use optifine and just use the plain old patcher HD settings then it works fine... Re: Minecraft Crash

For those of you using OptiFine which versions do you guys use? Any version should be fine, depends on your hardware, I use the multi-threaded version, but saw someone else using the smooth version. Try the highest version you think will work and see how it goes, if it's not amazing try the one bel...

Re: Redstone Guide

It is very well done, but is a little old now, it doesn't include vMC light blocks passing redstone current up, nor some of the simpler circuits that can be made with pistons.

However there is a helpful links section which includes a piston tutorial, so these should be recommended reading also.

Re: Morvelaira's MC News Compilation

Really not sure why they felt additional game modes like this were a priority. Exactly, if they wanted it to be easier for new players they should implement a tutorial system similar to the xBox one. The only reason I can therefore imagine is to remove some tedium for experienced players, but if th...

Re: Force Update not working

I do not believe so, because the location listed under the Force Update button is definitely where it gets played from. I tried deleting minecraft.jar and Force Updating. Minecraft.jar was not replaced. The minecraft.jar should be re-downloaded when you start the game (rather than just the launcher...

Re: Force Update not working

Have you moved your minecraft install? It might be forcing the update to the old location if so.

Otherwise you can safely just delete everything in your bin folder to force a redownload of all the files, although you can usually just get away with deleting the minecraft.jar.

Re: Problems with Linux

This thread if you haven't already read it might help.

It talks about trying xarchiver instead of fileroller (if that is your default), also installing mods with MCPatcher might get around your problems, otherwise you might need to wait for someone with more linux experience to come online.

Re: Problems with Linux

Black screen used to be indicative of the META-INF folder needing deletion, but I recall someone saying that this wasn't required anymore. The next best thing to do is to try incrementally adding in the mods, just modloader on it's own to start with. Not sure what zip utility is good to use for linu...

Makes sense to me, creepers have no arms, skeletons have no strength and zombies have no manual dexterity required for rope climbing. How they could climb ladders we'll put down to them jumping up the rungs.

Do Endermen even bother to climb ladders to reach you or just teleport?

Re: Show us your builds!

I don't think this can be done too simply or compactly. You can do this with multiple BDs, use one to store the data (16 bits of 1/0), and others to store the type of data (half blocks in one and full blocks in the other). You would then just pulse the storage BD to address the data, but have to com...

Re: An Important Announcement

My highly improbably theory is that it's a cloning machine, which unfortunately due to the poor quality of souls in the nether tends to create stunted, mutated versions of whatever it clones, and has a high chance of creating a violent, crazed, super mutant that can break through most blocks, hence ...

Re: Loss in translation...

It actually helps amazingly. Hiragana has pretty much no room for mispronunciation. A character is, almost without exception, always pronounced a certain way :) It also leaves no room to pronounce something that falls out of those characters' particular sounds, which is why I'm asking ;] Well no Ja...

Not that social myself, usually meet with our small circle of friends once a week for a movie/dinner/brunch/games night, but they all seem to be moving overseas in the next few months, so I guess I'll have to go full hermit, and limit my social interactions to this forum.
