Re: Good horror without showing/understanding the antagonist

Obligatory mention of The Mist! Most people in the community know by now that this is one of my favorite movies. It sorta qualifies? I mean, it's a creature movie, so there's lots of creature antagonists, but there's no real explanation of what's going on, just terror. There's something really fun a...

Really cool vibe that video, not really scary though, not enough suspense for that. I do appreciate it didn't artificially create it with jumpscares.

Re: New Launcher with BTW and MCPatcher

The old launcher has been discontinued by Mojang, there's a topic in this forum telling you how to use the new launcher. As for MCPatcher, as far as I know, it works perfectly fine with the new launcher, provided you have the correct version. I know there are some people in the Discord that have got...

Re: Gladiabots - Bot arena programming game

Can someone explain what the relation between the android and steam versions is? Is it the same game, just different interfaces, or are there more fundamental differences? Is there "cross-play"? They're basically the same game yes, and there is crossplay. I'm not sure how the Android vers...

2) Navigate to your Minecraft install directory and open the file named "options.txt" in a text editor. Delete the line that reads "lang:en_us" (or whatever language is referred to after "lang:"). This prevents a crash when loading older version of the game. Ah, that d...

I had no idea where to post this, and I couldn't find the answer when I was looking for it, so I'm putting this here. Re: Gladiabots - Bot arena programming game

Oh for sure, this game is brutal in learning curve. You get a small tutorial, but then the campaign curb stomps you starting from like the third level and the final chapters of the campaign, well, let's just say my grandmaster AI can't beat all of the levels near the end. That said, it's similar to ...

Re: Gladiabots - Bot arena programming game

very basic programming I'm not sure if I'd call it basic. It's a very weird language with only conditional branches and return statements. It lets you write some decently complex state machines, but it takes a while to wrap your brain around if you're used to regular languages. Combined with the fa...

Re: Hardcore Soul Mating and Recent Change to Prevent Exploi

Just to clarify, the way I understood it was: player 1 dies, shortly after player 2 dies, player 2 will spawn at the same spot as player 1, but with the new penalties.

That's correct, right?

Re: Embargo Lifted! (Open Early Game Discussion)

I like your neat simple design. Could you give more information about the 0.5-offset door thing? That sounds interesting. Can players normally walk through it? What do you do when a creeper or skeleton is waiting at the gate? Players can walk through normally. If a skelly is there, you've fucked up...

Re: Steam Sales

Is there any actual game to it or is it entirely sandbox? It's certainly caught my eye a few times as I like quirky off-beat sims like this, like Truck or Farming Simulator, but I'm not so big on aimless exploration. I was looking into getting it, but it turns out that not only is it extremely bugg...

Re: Witch Swarm: Is this normal? Because dayum!

If you're unlucky, with despawn mechanics being a bit weird and there being 3 persistent ones, you can even get more in one spot. I think I once counted 5 of em within view. Also, I don't remember why, but shooting arrows at them when they're stuck in the water is basically useless. Either it was so...

Unless it's an SVG image (as in, easily editable), I don't think linking a tech tree image is a good idea. Someone will need to maintain it.

Oh man, I remember the conversation a while back about maybe moving chests to post-saw, I'm glad that made it in, sounds like tons of fun trying to organize the base pre-saw.

I also love love love the dead weight change. Makes so much sense.

Very cool release man, top of your game!

Okay, so after the success of our The Mist night, the next one MagikEh, Thordan and I are planning is a Monty Python night. IIRC, FC had something to do with it. I've put this on my wishlist. I used to be really big into Commandos and this seems to be basically a well-done clone. I vaguely recall there being more clones in the past, like I think I remember a Robin Hood themed game in the genre and a wild west one.

You might want to do the same with skelly spawners. Unless I'm off-base here, they will drop bows, which is again infinite string.
