Re: Spawn radius chunk size?
The wiki says 24x24 and it only happens on multiplayer servers. That seems really large though. I remember searching in the past and finding somewhere that said it was 15x15 chunks, but I can't find that any more. All I could find was this: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Spawn/Multiplayer_Details un...

Re: Double, double, toil and trouble (witches)
I was able to kill 2 of them with a compound bow. Takes a lot of arrows but it's safer since you can stay far enough away where they can't attack back.

Cool, I didn't know this existed. I followed and even contributed to project-xenocide but it died, and Xenonauts is taking forever to be finished.Benanov wrote:Meh, I'm more interested in OpenXCOM.

Re: EmeraldCrack co-op /white list
Haha, thats funny :) I used to burn down my houses all the time but learned how fire worked with time, and now its rare that it happens. Surrounding the fires with cobble seems to have worked. In my SSP world the first time I built a hibachi it set the fence/grass of my animal pen on fire and of co...

Re: EmeraldCrack co-op /white list
Looks OK, but you may have issues with mobs standing around for a while because they decided to walk E/W instead of N/S. That may prevent additional mobs from spawning until the ones that are there finally walk in the right direction.

Re: EmeraldCrack co-op /white list
The other option, is to stop spiders from spawning, which would be to add a pillar in the center of the spawning pads that way there is no 2x2 area for spiders to spawn. From what I understand, spiders can actually spawn on top of a single block if it has 3x3 air on top of it. For example, they can...

Re: EmeraldCrack co-op /white list
images as requested for ruali :D Aww my 3rd base. Sucks how the jungle kept me from being able to go back there even after I got a compass and knew where it was. Oh well, it never hurts to have extra bases all around. I need to start cutting a path through the jungle so I can get back there for my ...

Nope I don't plan to go back, take whatever or move in if you want. I will give my vote to the server owner to cast for me. I've never seen bloodwood or groth and don't know anything about it. I look forward to being killed by it.

Re: EmeraldCrack co-op /white list
This is a very tough server to get started on as it is a jungle spawn on large biomes setting. Wish you the best of luck and I hope to see you soon! I have to admit, I really like the idea of all of us working together to make spawn safe. After I get my compass and get back to my base I'm going to ...

Re: Maps and Moving On
The "magic GPS" thing does seem cheaty. I sill use them, but I always justified it to myself that since the recipe used a compass, that Steve was just using compass readings to figure out where he was while making the map, like how we can triangulate manually with the compass. Steve is obv...

Yeah I wouldn't think a new seed would be necessary either. Once an update is out we can reconsider, depending on the changes. No need to decide now.

Not sure if you whitelisted me already since I've been on the last two days, so here's my request: IGN: VegasGoat Exp: Still new to the mod, but I'm familiar with most of what can be done up to late iron (before anvil) from playing single player. Haven't yet fought the dragon. Other stuff: I'll be o...

Re: Hardcore Spawn - Jungles
If you just want to die and respawn in a new place, dig a hole and hide until the next morning (go do something else for 20 minutes), then die. That's when HC spawn will reset. I haven't had much success surviving a jungle spawn, so I don't have any advice there. Wood is plentiful, and I can usually...

Already been said: you were probably the closest piece of food to that specific wolf. I'm posting to add that this is why I never leave my base in the early game without having some raw meat on my toolbar (I usually keep one or two from each hunting trip). It's much better to calm and then tame the ...

Re: how many times have you HC spawned?
I just started playing this mod for the first time a few months ago, and I've HC spawned so many times I don't even know the number. Legit compass recovery I've only done 3 times. All the other times I either got lucky spawning in a place I recognized, or ended up in a death cycle of dying trying to...

Re: Snow: The worst thing
As for tunnels, I like to use them for mine carts and/or mineshafts only. I'm not so much a fan of them as a main footpath unless they're carved into the side of a mountain and sufficiently decorated. Jungles are dangerous enough now that I will tunnel under them instead of trying to build a road t...

I wouldn't fight the ghasts, period, but that's because my aim stinks. Rotten arrows will definitely not cut it, though, they don't have the range.

Re: Hardcore Nether?
I probably can carry some obsidian and make a portal there. That I assume will link to the one at my base and since the one I come out will be extinguished by the ghasts, I'm good to go. Definitely this, it should link to the same portal in the overworld. The nether is really dangerous now, even in...

That's quite a rant. I actually did read the whole thing because I played a little of SR2 (bought a used copy for PS3 a while back) and a little of SR3 (got free with PS+) and didn't stick with either. You've inspired me to go back and give SR2 a chance, at least. I agree with your overall theme, I ...

Congratulations! Glad everyone is OK. I enjoyed and continue to enjoy every stage of my 2 girls. It's definitely amazing to watch them develop. The infant stage is great for video games, by the way. Re: The oddest gameplay habit has formed for me...
I'd be worried about creepers leading my animals outside like that. Creepers love to sneak up on me first thing in the morning. I hate living underground so I usually just make my base an area surrounded by a dirt wall and keep the animals fenced inside there.
