Re: Scandinavia and the World webcomic
I'm Scandinavian and a fan of that comic :) It doesn't try to portray the countries as they are but rather according to the stereotypical image the other scandinavian countries have of that particular country. (Same goes for the other countries in the comic, they're portrayed according to the Scandi...

Re: MC 1.3: Pigmen Spawn near Nether Portals
Is there a viable way to build a pigman farm in vMC? BTW does a lot to facilitate nether pigmen farms (limit the spawning to only netherrack and netherbrick plus having nether groth to further reduce the possible spawning placed) but wouldn't it in vMC require you to replace an enormous are of the n...

Re: MC 1.3: Pigmen Spawn near Nether Portals
Keep in mind that it's likely to be disabled in BTW so the question of how easy it is to get obsidian should be from a vMC perspective.

Re: MC 1.3: Pigmen Spawn near Nether Portals
I'd personally rather make the decision as early as possible. I really don't want to wait for people to build massive portal-farms before disabling something like that. IMO, in this case, disabling it preemptively is the better course of action. Then, it can be reenabled later if it turns out that ...

Re: MC 1.3: Pigmen Spawn near Nether Portals
Before more info has been gathered on the spawn rate and if multiple portals affect the spawn rate I don't think speculating on the matter will lead to much. From what I've seen so far the spawn rate is very very low so unless portals have a significant effect on spawn rates I don't think overworld ...

Re: Morvelaira's News Compilation
It's tied into the way tnt and creepers do more damage on higher difficulties and less on lower ones. Can't say I foresee any issues with it not damaging the player on peaceful and the added danger on hard makes it an interesting (as in good) change IMO.

Provided the spiders don't climb on the walls, I think it's 37 blocks they need to fall in order to die when they hit the water).

Re: Another hint? (spoilery, perhaps)
A blue and green circle, a red one below, and a black on top, seems like overworld end and nether to me, but the four squares, elements? Didn't fc say something about FOUR points of interest in everyone's world? Might be elements, at least the paintings can be associated with the 4 elements. Earth ...

Re: Another hint? (spoilery, perhaps)
The one with the 'H' in the lower circle resembles the Three of Life (or Death) from the Kabbalah (simplified). Of course, it can also be meant so show the way the 4 fixed points interact. I don't think the 3 headed monster is a hydra (too few heads and it's got wings). My guess is that it's perhaps...

I want to have Fear Factor with my testificates! Feed them spider eyes and other delicacies, plus give them challenges (make it safely through the dark room filled with dung and creepers?). The loser is voted out. Out of the show and into my mob farm.
It would be glorious.

Re: hello! and also, how offten do you start a new world?
I've changed world a bunch of times, especially back when I was playing vMC. These days I generally change when I grow bored of a building style. Nether travel can help (and does sometimes) but I think I'm on my 6th BTW world at the moment.

Unless it'll be changed from the snapshotsI think you can enable large biomes in an existing world by using NBTEdit.

Re: Your favorite building blocks?
Mixing sandstone and planks/logs. Any one colorngets boring and JohnSmith's sandstone + wood looks quite nice. Snow is also a good one since it's the brightest block that hasn't got a border.
