Re: Middle School (And Something About Sore Throats)

Interestingly enough I have a FB friend who has recently apologized for his treatment of me in elementary/middle school. And I got a lengthy email from another student from those days also apologizing. The second one left me sitting in my office in tears I was so blown away by it.

Re: i have tickets for PAX Prime

I'm reasonably sure that my oldest and I will be there (It will be our fourth trip). However, that all depends on if I have any money left after paying for a wedding and honeymoon. We usually go up on Thursday evening after work, we stay at a crappy little hotel about five miles north of the Convent...

I may have something close to what happened to you : My little house of do-it-all went boom when I mistakenly put hellfire dust in a stoked fired stewing pot. "WTF" was indeed my first reaction seeing this : http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/5581/20120313143558.png Same to me, luckily I ...

Re: Wedding music

I've contemplated Garth Brooks' Shameless I can get through most of it without transposition, there's just a bit toward the end that problematic. It may be a bit too up-tempo for mid-ceremony though.

Ah, good old baritone! That's me as well :). So will it be backing track or instrumentalists? We should be able to get it sorted without any trouble either way :). I wish you best of luck, and I'm more than happy to help in any way I can :). Ah, FlowerChild, I think we all know the feeling of getti...

Re: Wedding music

You could always opt for a bit of Johnny Cash. It's way too low for me (I constantly get in trouble doing karaoke versions of his songs), but perfect if you're a baritone. The only problem might be subject matter. I'd definitely stay away from "Folsom Prison Blues", "Solitary Man&quo...

Re: Wedding music

When you say "most music is in a key that is way too high for me", do you mean you have a limited range, or do you mean that you could sing it if it was transposed? If it's the latter, it couldn't be easier to transpose backing tracks to a key that would work for you. Or, if you are using...

Wedding music

So in 101 days I'm getting married. Some of my fiancee's friends have said I need to sing to her at our wedding (yes, I do have a non-embarrassing public singing voice). The problem is that most music is in a key that is way too high for me. I'm completely at a loss. There's an Il DIvo song that wou...

Re: RedPower PR5 and Frames: Some thoughts

I love the sound of these frames. Mostly because my only true disappointment with BTW came when I realized that I couldn't move blocks with platforms and had to shelve my plans for an enchantery where the enchanting table was lifted up out of the water. I've come to peace with the fact that they hav...

I think in this case honesty is definitely the best policy: "I'd love to play SMP with you, but I can't play on a Tekkit server because the people who created Tekkit are a bunch of unethical assholes."

If you enjoy Cornwell's Sharpe, make sure you read Forrester's Hornblower, and then Weber's Harrington!

My guess is these games don't run on Mac?

I had to abandon my first BTW world because after many many hours of play I didn't find one wolf. My second world (which I'm still playing) it took me a brief while but I found all the wolves I needed.

Wow man, that is harsh. I'm really really sorry for your loss. Losing a pet can be a very very difficult thing. You will, however, always have the memories. I think I agree with Sarudak on this one. I hated gathering clay (and I used it to put the roof on my factory which is the biggest thing I've ever built) But I loved having to go explore to find enough resources to make it possible.
