Sale to Microsoft confirmed. https://mojang.com/2014/09/yes-were-being-bought-by-microsoft/ Notch's thoughts. http://pastebin.com/n1qTeikM I'm interested to see how it goes. And good for Notch, he made the game he wanted, got a massive following and became a billionaire overnight. Now he can do wha...

Re: Early Iron Mines - Cave, Strip, Ravine or Other?
Ravines usually spell death for me. Too many opportunities for creepers to get the drop on me. I find caves the safest because I can bring a load of dirt and make barriers all over to prevent anything coming from behind me. This is why site prep is so important. Build a bloody wall around the ravin...

Re: my luck with vital tech bottlenecks
Okay, I hate myself for it, but I cheated and used a mapping tool to locate the villages. None of my villages I've tried to find are actually in my world. I'm using AMIDST, and it shows me where temples and all that are. I looked in a plains biome and a desert biome. The three villages I walked to ...

Re: Request for removing Endermen's ability to pick up block
The behavior of endermen, including what specific blocks then can pick up was a deliberate decision by FC to encourage players to build out of materials that aren't grass/dirt. FC also changed exactly how endermen pick what blocks to pick up (only ones on an edge, to not leave random holes like in v...

Re: (Possible Spoilers)Help Finding Village
I found my village on boat, try making a compass and heading in a direction other than your portals by boat. Only stop for desert or plains biomes. With the compass you'll easily get home so it doesn't matter how far you sail. I'm not sure if this is true but, I've heard that villages spawn north-s...

Re: [Nether Spoilers] Soul Sand Piles Help
it pauses then moves away in a direction until it disappears. I found spamming right click to throw 5-10 all at once then backing up was enough to get a clear direction for tunneling. I found my nearest fort by getting a couple stacks of sand, digging a 5x5x5 room, throwing 5-10 sand and digging in ...

I work on World Viewer and just updated it. If anyone has been playing this version since it came out and has one or more well developed forts in a world I'd appreciate if you could share your save so I could better test the update.

I don't know if you have a reddit account (or you do but wouldn't use it for privacy reasons) but the community there is fairly large and generally more familiar with a larger variety of mods than this one. I went ahead and posted your question there along with some samples of what (I believe) you'r...

Re: Portal Problem (Spoilers)
I used to have a nether portal in my base. It was a good distance from my animals, more than twenty blocks, but were still corrupted. I moved the portal quite far from the pens and brought in new animals. They still corrupted. I moved the portal a third time, well out of any loaded chunks at my bas...

Re: [SPOILERZ] Hardcore Villagers trading mechanics.
Geez, clearly I haven't been keeping an eye on this thread very much. When did it change from HC Villagers to wither skeleton traps? When it was mentioned that since steel requires the end, and the end requires ender eyes, and ender eyes now require a villager trade that requires you to trade a a n...

Re: [SPOILERZ] Hardcore Villagers trading mechanics.
Spoiler ahead, maybe, I don't know. I haven't done that yet, but it seems people are missing the obvious with the wither skulls thing. As long as you find a jungle temple, you have everything you need to make a simple chopping block trap. You can make one of these traps in a nether fortress and sim...

Re: [SPOILERZ] Hardcore Villagers trading mechanics.
The requirement for a priest to get to level 4 has nothing to do with steel, so I'm not sure what you're referring to there. Mind posting a screenshot? I think you've misinterpreted me. To my understanding, getting a priest to level 4 is the only way to get Ender Eyes, and Ender Eyes are a requirem...

Re: [SPOILERZ] Hardcore Villagers trading mechanics.
Have you ever read through an entire thread and wondered if people are even playing the same game as you? And then read through it again just to make sure? I just found out the requirement for getting a Priest to level 4. Which, to my best understanding, is a requirement for Steel, as I've still ye...

Subtle features you forgot are from BTW
So I sometimes swap between mods when I play with friends but I've been playing deep into a new BTW world recently, and when I switched back briefly I noticed a ton of features missing. Features that I forgot were actually BTW additions because of how natural they felt. I think it'd be interesting f...

Re: [SPOILERZ] Hardcore Villagers trading mechanics.
2 Things: 1) My blacksmith is a greedy bastard, he charges tremendous prices for iron armor and tools, but the others seem pretty reasonable. He does sell for a lot more than any other villager, but he has a lot of good stuff. All iron and diamond tools and armor. Chain Armor and refined tools too....

Re: [SPOILERZ] Hardcore Villagers trading mechanics.
Is there some kind of consequence for killing villagers? I killed one and there was some strange particle effect that I don't know what it means, and I'm too scared to kill any more and maybe screw up my world in a permanent (or long term) way... I believe killing them could cause iron golems (if t...

And btw, I'm fine with feedback. What I'm not fine with is either people being dicks about it or the expectation that I should change the design based on it if I don't agree with what is being said. I'm also not fine with what I view to be bad feedback that just wastes my time in reading it, which ...

I've messed up the install as we'll and then I realized that you can use the existance of the "new version" notice to know that you screwed up before you load a world and trash it. But backups are always ideal.

A small thing but the arrow from Ender Slag to Brimstone says "Stoiked" instead of "Stoked". Ha, thanks. Fixed that. Also took a stab at potions. I hadn't realized that it's possible to get up to throwable potions of weakness extended without ever visiting the nether. For the pa...

I'm not able to watch the video at the moment. Is that a two wide gap or a three wide gap between mushrooms. I'm using a two and it's not great right now.

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.9 Marsupial?)
Something I think is worth mentioning. Even though running and jumping shake the food bar manual use of the millstone doesn't. It felt out of place to me since it's a big hunger draw and players might come to expect that those draws are accompanied by hunger bar shakes now.
