Re: Why would people want compatibility ?

Well I loved BTB and if compatibility had ever been in consideration I would have gone and revamped the recipes (for personal use ofc) to make just about all of BC an extension to the BTW tech tree (what BTB was doing but a step further). But without messing with BTW at all, there are a few mods tha...

Re: Item elevator (platform)/water stream help

I haven't had a good look at the vid (at work atm) but one possible solution that looks like a definite maybe is to have the water stream above the elevator stop height and fall past it, with one block between. Then set up a double piston hooked up to a detector block (the detector can be anywhere, ...

Re: The state of Strategy games

Supreme Commander was one of my biggest let downs in recent years. It has so much potential in the engine, in fact it's probably fair to say the engine itself realises a lot of that potential... but holy homogeneous factions Batman! Some actual balance that isn’t balance by similarity and that game ...

Re: A way to hold Villagers still.

I made an apartment building - purely for looks because I had an idea, I turned it into a village later - with 24 apartments over 3 floors. They do occasional commit suicide by jumping over the railing on the rooftop garden or trying to become one with their beloved home (much like yours) but the po...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)

That gives me a lot of hope, because it means that one way or another, I'll be going "Home" in the near future and not with the mythical "next release with the mod API" of Minecraft. One other "sub-option" I'll mention that I've been considering. If I go the Return To ...

What are you loading and what is the order? It should look something like: Modloader BTW HD Textures Sorry, should have clarified that. I normally use MCpatcher to update my BTW so I'm pretty comfortable with it now (having learnt a few things the hard way). I am only loading ModLoader & BTW, i...

Re: BD Timed Toggle

What you are after, if the terminology helps with your search, is a monostable RS-NOR latch. The one I build for prototype designs is almost always the one labeled A in the diagram here http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Redstone_Circuits/Latches . I have the input hit one side of the latch and also ...

Re: Are we all idiots?

Well I have been tested several times, using a number of methods and all of them show my IQ to be well and truly into the genius level range, yet I have a lot (and I mean A LOT) of trouble with spelling. Spelling is the most noticeable but also not the only area I have that is below normal ranges. I...

Re: Misa's Realistic "Themed" Texture Pack (x64) for BTW (4.

I've altered the main terrain.png and included the new textures for the columns in there, the old ones can be found in the alternate textures file along with some other stone looking ones if you want to chop and choose.
Oh, awesome! Thank you! :D

Thanks for the stake update :D Looks much better end on in the build I was doing! Quick question, do you happen to have an alternative texture for the stone column? -Added Stake textures there are 5 in total but I've only included 3 since I can't figure out what the other 2 do, if you find out please let me know!
I just found out what 1 (or maybe both) of them does. With the pack as-is, if you attach string to the top of a stake it becomes invisible.

Re: Terrain generation

Replaces, in a literal sense, none that I can think of. There are plenty of generators out there though, some integrate with MC (another option in the world creation screen) while others generate a world that you then load from within MC (you may or may not have to move the would to the appropriate ...

No, the only way normal fire is overwritten in some tp's is through the use of mcpatcher. You cannot do it any other way, which also means the stoked fire texture cannot be overwritten. ... Re: looking for 64x64 stoked fire

It is but it can be overwritten by a texture (or the texture file provides a sample of textures to choose from as it randomizes, I won't pretend to know exactly how replacing works at the technical level... only that it can be done!). Panda's pack replaces the original with a 32x32 one (if you have ...

looking for 64x64 stoked fire

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has made one yet, or even seen a texture that consumes a lot of the block space that I might be able to adapt? Well for what it's worth I think you are very unlikley to get the types of cases you seem to be worrird about. Re: Could use some help with filtering my mob trap

I approached this from the other way around. Rather than having a bellows first and filtering light items in one stream and 'heavy' in another I took the view that water was much more painful to set up at will now (HCB) than bellows so I designed around minimal water flows. I have not tested it, but...
