Although, if it requires resources that are even farther down the tech-tree than the turntable (steel), this effect is mostly unneeded. However, the turntable's multiple settings are definitely a big plus.

I can see where you are going with this, but I view it more as an upgrade earned through the work required to get to the point of steel. Take, for instance, waterwheels. They are much better than windmills or hand cranks for mechanical power, not requiring nearly as much space, not needing to be out...
