Re: An Important Announcement
Well, from the weekly snapshots Jeb posts on Mojang's site, it looks like 1.3 will bring the split client/server on the single player side.

BTB & BTW compatibility...
Okay, refresh my memory here, because I think i may have seen this but it never was rather explicit...
BTB does not need to be updated when a new BTW comes out, just when a new Minecraft comes out? I think FlowerChild said he split them back out... but I iz confuzzled... Mind straightening that out?

Re: New Release! (BTW V3.58)
What they're going to do is pre-release it (today, actually, it got posted on their blog) and then split off a copy to work on 1.3 while sitting on 1.2.5. For those who are wondering "How can they do that?" they're switching to the same source code control system that the Linux kernel uses...

Re: New Release! (BTW V3.58)
Heads up. Jeb just tweeted about a 1.2.5 update: The team requested more time to work on 1.2.5, so the prerelease will be out tomorrow instead. Official release still next week https://twitter.com/#!/jeb_/status/185385565024292865 The reason for a pre-release is to get the MCP and bukkit guys some t...

I'd have to check one thing myself, but I think you loose the ability to have a continuous stack of material and keep going once you drop the stack.

Re: Upgrading Forge's Sprite APIs to 1.2
If I'm mistaken Notch doesn't have anything to do with Minecraft anymore. The development is lead by Jeb, who is helped by Jon (the AI guy). Without counting the Bukkit guys. But yeah, Jeb is abroad (don't know about Jon though) ^^ Jeb signs the code, and releases it; Notch said he's not the primar...

I actually like that! It would work nicely with an automated pottery machine -- have the clay balls be fed back into the BD. Nice.

Re: Upgrading Forge's Sprite APIs to 1.2
I would not expect a 1.2.4 anytime soon, as Jeb_ and Notch are in San Francisco at this time for Game Developer Conference. I'd say two weeks, unless Jeb can crank out a release from remote.

Re: Detector Block Change
I took another approach with the wheat farm is that I have water flow over the planters. It requires a slow timer, which I used "solid state" timers (read: 5 redstone repeaters on 4 = 2 sec delay) in combo of a piston flip-flop and a monostable circuit. A 6 second delay works to get 4 plan...

The original idea may be worth it for vMC 1.2, as Jeb just released a screenshot of the latest weekly drop... showing puppies.
Yes, tame wolves can breed in 1.2.
Not good.

There's ink EVERYWHERE! (observation)
This may of been a change in vMC, but I'm finding ink sacs in my hoppers where water flows into. Anyone also get into that you're recently getting alot more ink sacs? The squid must be spawning all over the place.

Re: 45 deg angle blocks
Mason11987 has it right, and in fact it would be even better idea in the Neither because you cannot bring water into the Neither. You have windmills, so you can grind Neitherrack, but you can't easily make Soul Urns and Hellfire unless you make a ton of hoppers to grab the ground Neitherrack, or gri...

45 deg angle blocks
Okay, prelim search turns up not what I'm thinking of, but... bear with me... A wood or smoothstone block, cut edge to edge so it's a triangle. Mainly aesthetic, although if items are dropped on it, it would fall along the slope and off the edge. A follow-up would be to have the 1-block wide "s...
