Who (or what?) is Steve? Why is he here?
What do we know about him? He's immortal. Even if his body is destroyed in Lava he will manifest another. He can summon a portal to hell using only some cooled lava and a flint and steel. His presence allows undead creatures to seep into the world. He's a genius level intellect able to reconstruct c...

Re: The Feature Request / Suggestion Thread - LIMITED TIME O
Yup, that's the direction that I've been going in for awhile man, with features like HC Grass and such. That's probably not too obvious given that's inadvertently stretched over years though. This is a very mild example that doesn't really apply, which makes it a good one for me to talk about this,...

Re: The Feature Request / Suggestion Thread - LIMITED TIME O
Ok, I need some kind of system to respond to all of these :) Trello baord? j/k Also the one thing I've wanted for a very long time is some mechanism for small co-op servers to all stay together even in the early game. Something as simple as a server setting where when any person dies everyone else ...

Re: The Feature Request / Suggestion Thread - LIMITED TIME O
Oooo... Make all crops only able to grow in sunlight or under light blocks. I just realized this is not the case even though I always do all my farming on the surface, because it seems silly to me otherwise, but open air farms (or having to build greenhouses for protection just makes so much more se...

Flowerchild has talked about adding block destroying mobs before but he's always stopped out of concern for destroying people's existing worlds.

Re: The Feature Request / Suggestion Thread - LIMITED TIME O
Huh. That's a cool idea man. Maybe a slight repurposing and reordering of the tech tree is worth considering. With blight in particular, I was so timid about it that I relegated it to a portion of the tree that I suspect few people ever see. SOME SPOILERS IN THIS POST I wanted to expand on this a l...

Re: The Feature Request / Suggestion Thread - LIMITED TIME O
Hm. I hesitate to jump on this band wagon and my ask may be out of scope but I wish that there was something that kept my survival instincts going after sustainable food. I really find my motivation diminishes after getting wheat setup. I know that I *can* go out and advance but I don't really feel ...

Re: Hardcore Spawn
Hopefully this is the appropriate place to post this. On a restart, my orginal spawn was really close to a witch hut. I managed to dance around them for a day but by day two the witches had wandered a bit and were unavoidable. I suppose the way to avoid this death would have been to "get out o...

Re: Sprint-Jumping
I find myself sprint jumping over plain sprinting all the time unless I'm on a road. So basically I have three modes of travel: walking to conserve food, sprint jumping for exploration, and sprinting along roads for travel (once food is abundant). I haven't actually done any research in regards to f...

Re: The wonderful Sophie's Choice of mod updates
I like to restart if there was any significant change to progression. Although partly that's just cause I love the struggle of the early game. My Sophie's choice now is start a new game now or wait until FC has finished his balancing pass on this playthrough.

Awesome to see new updates, it's giving me the itch again. Does this sudden outpouring of updates perhaps represent a change in your previous eyesight situation? I would be very happy for you if it were the case. :)

I remember trying to play this game once and feeling completely uninspired. Did I just not give it enough of a chance?

Re: Steam Sales
I kinda doubt it's story mode. They explicitly stated that there will be one more sandbox release before story mode. I suspect at the end of the countdown they will release the last sandbox only update along with an official release date for the game and a snazzy launch website.
Re: Firewatch
When I played through it I remember having some positive feelings about it. Looking back I feel the experience overall was lacking and the game has no replay value whatsoever. It's more of a walkthrough story experience than any kind of game.

Wow. I'm sorry. But I have to say how consistently amazing I find it that people can be so skeptical of mainstream media and then so credulous of some random guy on 4chan.

Generally asking about updates is frowned upon here. For people who don't know Flowerchild has been having vision problems for some time and doesn't like to make promises about releases. That said welcome to the forums and I'm happy you're enjoying the mod!

Re: Water terraforming? (Aquaforming?)
Just to be clear. Minecraft fluid behavior is totally deterministic and in no way random. The rules are kinda wierd but once you know them the behavior is totally predictable. Pro tip: understand water before experimenting with lava. ;)

To be clear my AI scenario was not a doomsday scenario. It was actually the classic superintelligent AI utopian scenario. My argument is that as a human it sounds like that utopia would totally suck.

I think it's a good thing that laws and regulations are as tight as they are regarding this stuff. Some really crazy things could happen otherwise. Is it though? Because here's the thing. On the one side this technology has huge huge potential benefits for everything from food production to life ex...
