Re: Even more Thaumcraft 3 goodies!

Yeah. That's what I did. Although I'm planning to move now cause I get constant thundeerstorms and random giant zombies. I'm at a bit of a loss as how to manage flux, do you just have to wait between magic processes or is there something you can do to reduce it? I know at some point you can craft g...

Re: Can't sleep

One of the main causes of sleeplessness is bright light, your body doesn't think it's night time so tries to keep you awake. Turn all the lights off apart from desk lamps in the evenings, unfortunately this includes computer screens and TV, just chill with a good book for a bit. I even shower and br...

Re: Sharing useful builds that get the job done

For urn-only creation, i figured out a pretty simple timing mechanism that doesn't use a BUD, Block Dispenser or other complex counting mechanisms. Set up two turntables two blocks away from eachother. These turntables need to be powered at the same time, so make sure they have the same number of g...

Re: McPatcher Installation issue.

What order are the items in the list in McPatcher? Modloader should be first, then BTW, then the graphics options. The only warning about conflicts it should give you is BTW overwriting Modloader files. Also try editing the minecraft config file and setting the texture pack to the default and see if...

Also, Origami. It's nice to give it to people, and doesn't take a lot of time at all. I made my wife an Origami Godzilla for valentines day, she loves it! However it did take me 2 hours, it was the most complicated origami I've ever seen and the instructions were in japanese (only some of which I c...

Although, at around 60,000 feet without a protective suit all fluids in your body WOULD boil :P Fun fact from the commentator. Would that be considered boiling? I always thougt there was a different word for state changes when it's caused by pressure rather than temperature It's always boiling when...

I'm really enjoying the mod, it's much more interesting mining when you don't just fill an inventory that's 90% cobble, but you haven't just included extra ores for 50 types of pickaxe! Thanks for doing the tutorial map as it helps show the progression and different features well, and how they fit i...

Also, keep in mind that compasses point to *magnetic* north, not true north. There's no reason why the magnetic pole needs to be the same as the rotational, even if the world were spherical, and there are a ton of cool possible explanations as to why that might be the case. What if the MC world has...

Re: Redstone genius needed

I assume the purpose is to always have a minecart ready at each end?

Instead couldn't you just use a couple of minecart pez dispensers or even just item dispensers (more manual though as you have to reload them by hand IIRC)?

Re: Question about snow balls and the block dispenser

There is one use for snowmen that is a bit overlooked: If you can seal them off from any nearby smooth or cobblestone, you can cause massive devastation (and reveal ores) by letting loose a single silverfish. The snowman attacks the silverfish, causing it to call out more silverfish from surroundin...

Re: Question about snow balls and the block dispenser

The vanilla code tests for it whenever a pumpkin is created in the world, regardless of its source (so pushing it with a piston probably works too...not sure if you can push pumpkins though). I checked the wiki on this as I was also curious, only Steve or Endermen can create snow golems (not sure w...

Re: Loaded Chunks

Just had a brainwave to find the answer. Loaded up a fresh map, stood still on far render distance, closed the game and mapped the world. The map is 400 blocks by 400, which is 25 chunks by 25 chunks. So that many chunks are generated around the player. Generated, but not necessarily loaded, I woul...

Judging by the testing so far it doesn't seem ready yet, and they also haven't made a mention of the infinite textures fix that I've seen.

Re: Phase 5?

I think the people going in circles are latching onto FC mentioning unique in the same breath as location, whereas the implied idea seems to be that each machine at one of 4 fixed locations will be uniquely built or have unique effects (based on order they were activated perhaps), not that the locat...

I own every Myst series game, loved them all. I tried to install Riven last week on Windows 7 64bit, spent about an hour trying to work around install errors, but it's not happening, I'd need Windows 7 professional so I could have a Windows XP virtual machine that might be able to play it. Instead I...

If he's older than 7 he's either trolling or was educated by having rocks thrown at his head, otherwise it sounds perfectly legit for that someone on the low end of the IQ scale for that age. I have to attribute a child mentality to the person in question so my brain doesn't break.

I think I spotted something that has so far been missed. There is a hole in the ceiling right above the device.

I think FC had to relocate his "device" to under a mob grinder, hence the water flows to funnel everything into the centre.

Dragon orb power is looking more likely!
