I've always been a fan of MinGW for CodeBlocks, namely due to me being able to just install it on an external hard drive and work wherever.

Dinnerbone finally seems to be gaining some grasp on game design. While his features are still a bit iffy, he genuinely seems to want to add more challenge back into the game.
For the first time in a LONG time I will say this: I'm looking forward to the next snapshot.

I shot Jens a message, although I doubt he'll read it, basically saying "Minecraft has been around for 4 years. If horses fit into the game, we would have seen them a long time ago. Besides, you just wasted god knows how long making pigs a useful method of transportation. Why nullify that work ...

Re: Any reason for no torchlight?
It's been done before in AdventureCraft and the Dynamic Lights mod, and it looks pretty nice. However, these effects are purely aesthetic. They have no effects on the actual light levels of the world around it. Meaning that you can carry around a torch, it will light the area, but the game will stil...

Heathens. The best pie crust is definitely made with butter, and butter only. I think a bake-off may be in order here. Actually I'll back up flowerchild on this one. When done right, pie crusts with butter are a religious experience in itself. I for one would legitimately like to see a bake-off wit...

My Son is 2 and plays. The amount of stuff they figure out by themselves is amazing isn't it? That's some incredible stuff your son has made. Mine currently plays more with entities than building things, but I'm sure he'll make it to that point soon enough. Also, I find my son likes to turn on the ...

Re: Bets on Mojang adding meteors
*points at old endermen mechanics* uhuh. They added fireworks and bats, so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they added something else incredibly useless like this. There's still a difference between a handful of misplaced blocks and your entire base getting obliterated in a matter of seconds reg...

Re: Bets on Mojang adding meteors
For your consideration, I give you bats! Obviously useful is not a factor in adding game content for Mojang. If I were the game designer considering meteors, I'd consider making them provide a unique and useful resource unobtainable in any other way. Usefulness may not be a factor, but the damage i...

Re: Bets on Mojang adding meteors
Meteors would be too difficult to pull off. Maybe if it was just a random celestial event that didn't make any effect on the world it'd work. The question is what would it add? Even if they did an event which made craters, the meteor, and they did it well, you've just got a fucking ball of rock and ...

I'm not a rich man, so I can't donate a lot. However the money is going to a good cause, so I dumped the money I had on my side paypal.
My honest hope is that RTH gets you enough money(donations and/or sales) to buy a 13-foot tall battle mech and walk in beer cooler.

Re: RTH Q&A thread
First off, what can we expect in terms of the worlds size horizontally and vertically? Will we have a finite world, an infinite horizontal world, or a world that expands in all directions? Sorry ahead of time if this is meta-gamey. Secondly, will the game itself lean more towards realism or will it ...

Hardcore movement just sounds like an amazing idea, and I am glad that you implemented it. Those speed potions always seemed OP, even for things like base raids in PvP and anarchy, so I'm glad you removed them. Not to mention they completely nullified my reasons for setting up a rail system around m...
