Re: Show us your builds!

While this technically isn't really a 'build', per-se, I nevertheless am quite pleased with how it turned out:

Re: are pre-wheat pigs worth the cost?

In my world, I have wheat and carrots and all of the animals, yet I still use ham and eggs for my go-to food because it's just so easy to nearly fully automate. Once you have a decently productive mob grinder, you'll be getting kibble out the wazoo and even my four pigs I use for breeding seem incap...

Re: "We are currently wealthy, fat, comfortable, and complac

Well, changing the topic, I'm curious about what everyone else's (who hasn't listed them already) news sources are, and why they choose to use those? Personally, I'm honestly not that big on keeping up with news, and tend to just watch The Young Turks and other shows on the TYT Network (which can be...

Re: "We are currently wealthy, fat, comfortable, and complac

Well, we recently had Israel's prime minister of the time Netanyahu invited by a congressman to have a speech at our congress, in which he received a 4-minute standing ovation. Which was a rather interesting debacle, since the gesture was largely unprecedented to begin with, especially since Israeli...

Re: "We are currently wealthy, fat, comfortable, and complac

I deleted the post, because I thought it was excessively negative and didn't really contribute much, but apparently it was fine. And the Newsroom does sound like just the kinda thing I'd like, though unfortunately it's an extra $7.99 on Netflix, so I'll have to watch it elsewhere... And right, Kenne...

Very interesting speech from Edward R. I find that glass tends to work better then fences for preventing the animal suffocation glitch, due to it being a full block.

Squids attack before weather visual cues

So, I recently had a death from squid attack. I was in the wrong, and shouldn't have been boating while it was raining, so I'm not saying the death was unjust... Though, it did feel odd that there was not even a one-second reaction moment for me to observe that the rain was getting darker and heavie...

Re: Show us your builds!

One question about that urn-pooper, does it have a way to stop the clay balls from despawning? If not, I would reccomend adding an always-powered hopper somewhere to do that.

Re: Grass slabs & grazing

This, much like mobs not spawning on half-blocks, is most likely something that Flowerchild would like to change, but would require too much effort for too little gain and would break old builds.

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

Does anyone actually play minecraft anymore? Reading those suggestions makes me think the vast amount of the userbase just uses it as an arena to playfight on :/ What happened to traps, ambushes? Using the terrain as a weapon and shield? You know, minecrafty stuff :/ Apparently, the majority of peo...

Re: Prison Architect Alpha 31

This isn't K-street simulator though. I think they really need to address gangs because gangs are rather critical components of how large prisons operate and maintain order. True, that is a bigger priority that I forgot about. I didnt mean that they should do lobbyists immediately, just at some poi...

Re: Prison Architect Alpha 31

They did a lovely job with that execution, really good decision to force it in the player's face like that. I have a feeling there are going to be at least a few people who support/ed the death penalty who will be complaining about 'making it look worse then it is', (Though, it's actually worse IRL)...

Re: Factorio: A game all about automation

It's easy to want a multiplayer mode for sandbox or survival games, because the main concept of those games lends well to playing with a friend. But as mentioned, it comes with an obvious cost. Factorio on the other hand is neither survival really, nor true sandbox. I really can't see why such huge...

Re: Withering Advice

Well I don't know if you consider this to count as fighting the wither "head on", but I've found it helpful to fight them in forests as opposed to a flat open area. The cover provided by the trees can help you to retreat if you get in a pinch to restore health or just rethink your approac...

Re: Early Iron Mines - Cave, Strip, Ravine or Other?

Strip mining for caves is what I generally do, particularly when spawning in tough biomes. When your only food source is fish either way, there is less pressure to hunt for surface caves but a huge amount of pressure to not go outside any more than you can help. This. Also, some other tips for earl...

I fully explored three full-sized maps with many large plains and deserts, found two enchanting tables and two vessels (One of which I stupidly didn't bother collecting, cuz I didn't know a second one would be useful at the time... >->) before finding any villages at all. The trek it sounds like you...
