Re: TNT steel bone

What reason does flower, who already makes a perfectly balanced stand alone mod, have for making an object for another mod?

There are some detector block issues.

Phoenixterrain seems to work perfectly.

Re: The Endermen come...

How about this for a twist then.

What if...they are the NPCs. Feeling less guilty about chuckling at the minecart idea now I've thought of that.

Re: Concrete Moulds (for stone panels/moulding/corners)

Because using a bucket of concrete for each panel/moulding/corner could be expensive and annoying, each panel you make could "damage" the bucket a little. The idea is that your emptying a little bit of the bucket everytime, and the information works the same way that damage does so that y...

Proof that these things can be small. http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/6100/treegeneratorannotated.png See annotations for details. Re: Generators/Motors

To be honest, I've always thought of redstone 'power' in minecraft as a fairly weak power; just a low...current (I know current makes no sense, but it's the closest way to describe it) that's used to signal things to turn on/off. Can't really expect more from something generated from dust on a stick...

Re: Automatic Tree Farm Discussion

The only problem is that your clock is going to Jam on a Save / Load although, as you only have a small line of 3 repeaters, it should be easy to reset using a biological clock but takes up some extra space. Nice setup though. Definitely saves on space. I plan to replace it with a turntable once I'...

Re: Automatic Tree Farm Discussion

This is definitely the kind of project that test your skills :| Still halfway through putting one together (so it's just a messy proof of concept design) but since I found out that block dispensers + boats make for a very space efficient counting circuit, when compared to a ring pushed around by pis...

Re: RE: Turtle's discussion on the Aether mod

There are a couple of aspects to the aether that can be used in automation, but I can't help but think in terms of BTW most of the time.

...using speed soil and blue clouds for item transport and various traps is fun though.

Re: The Aether Mod is out-- thoughts?

I've played through it a bit now, and to be honest, as the first release goes I'm not overly impressed. The good - It looks brilliant. Everything is well textured, and gives a light feel to the world. The mobs are well designed visually and add well to the ambience - The tools and armour are great. ...

Re: Power: infinite or finite supply?

Well you can only stick 3 axels together then you need a gearbox (like redstone needs a repeater/inverter/something after 15 blocks) which I guess is ment to be something like that (or is it because of the torsion?). I wonder if it could be done w/o slowing down minecraft too much (this is no reque...

Re: The Learning Curve: Redstone, Logic, and Applications

I dabbled a bit in electronics when I was younger, and thankfully some of the thought processes from way back stuck around till I found out about the wonders of redstone. The biggest hurdle I faced though was that redstone doesn't really act like circuitry; everything happens at set intervals, and t...

Re: Going to hell without the sin of greed

It's funny to think that I've been playing Minecraft for over a year and never thought of making a portal that way. Of course I've never really had a reason to go to the nether until BTW. I wonder what other useful tricks people use that may not be known by everyone? Well there is always the slight...

An aid to automation: Item Pipes

Since there's a dedicated sub-forum for these now, may as well pull an idea from the previous suggestions thread for (potential) discussion. Basically, the suggestion is for pipes, ala buildcraft. Not a million varieties of pipes that transport items at ungodly speeds and autocraft large amounts of ...

Re: Cobblestone Generator/harvester

I might post a pic of my ones later on; it's a similar concept to the OP, but a touch smaller and a redstone/BD or redstone/piston timer instead of a turntable. Which may or may not be because I haven't gotten around to playing with turntables yet >.> Brilliantly useful things though, at max speed t...

Re: Open Design Discussion: Turntable

I don't know whether I've worked this out right or not, but wouldn't this also get around the one other problem we've had with timers? Up till now (without insane amouts of complicated piston design) it's been almost impossible to create a timer which actually waits a conciderable amount of time due...
