Re: A New Age!
Very nice teaser! Exciting! Looking forward to what the next age brings! Got a dung factory going last night so hopefully I'll be ready for it.

Re: BTW: Design Philosophy
I'd still see this as the exploitation step. Controlling and manipulating the environment around us and developing technologically has been what BTW is all about. That's likely not to change. Of course more exploration could be required in order to find necessary resources (or more space) for whatev...

Re: Thanks for the new version Flower!
Haha of course! Thanks for the new version Flower! I'll upgrade after work. I'm really looking forward to what the future holds for this mod. For now, i'm be very grateful for a bd recipe that's less dependent on mossy cobble.

Re: BTW: Design Philosophy
I can easily see Danyo's original point, confirmed by FlowerChild, of the saw as straddling both ages. I especially like FlowerChild's comment on the saw as a reward. This is exactly what I think the learning curve theory promotes. That there is tech available at the end of the tree that rewards ma...

Re: Potential List of Discarded/Discussed Feature Ideas
Less mossy for bd and smoothstone in other recipes has been implemented and could be removed from the planned features section of the OP.

Re: Battosay's video corner
I like this videos, very nice indeed. Could you make a Tutorial for the Mushroom farm? thats looks ace. The mushroom farm appears to have each level 7 blocks deep with a bd triggered water gate all the way at the back. Its a fairly simply circuit to grab the mushrooms along the edges with the bd's ...

Re: BTW: Design Philosophy
Great beginning to our Ages discussion, gang. SterlingRed: I find I really like the bottleneck idea of technological progression as well. It's at the core of what I meant when I talked about learning curves back here - http://www.sargunster.com/btwforum/viewtopic.php?p=496#p496 . And it does seem t...

Re: Who here makes their own mods?
I've done a bit of modding, but the only language im at all decent is is visual basic, which is really only good for learning non-object oriented programming :p I'm enrolled in college for a major in computer science with a focus on game design, but i start in the fall, and my first term is all bas...

Re: Battosay's video corner
The gravel recycler depends on the pistons being able to throw items. For those who are interested in keeping things vanilla (with the exception of btw of course) you can run a minecart track from where you want to load the gravel, to above the water flow in front of a bd. Fill a storage cart with g...

Re: BTW: Design Philosophy
I think I agree with flowerchild's definition of an age's starting and ending point. With BTW we have a bottleneck to start the wood/mechanical power age. Hemp is required for nearly every process created during that age. FC said that the next age will have a bottleneck by the way of tanning and mec...

I see you're using the biosphere mod. Are you using any other mods? Something might be interfering with the gearbox id/entity.

7/10 for its uniqueness

Re: Rate the username above you
4/10 If you're a fan of something, no need to throw 'ilove' in front of it for a username. Just use a variation of the character/showname/etc and leave out the obvious 'ilove' part. I suppose its acceptable if the name is your gf/bf/fiance/wife/husband/partner.

Hello! I'm one of the new fans as a result of the yogscast showcase of btw. I aim to be an active and contributing member of the btw community. BTW is a very awesome and much needed addition to minecraft. Other than minecraft, I play starcraft.

Re: BTW: Design Philosophy
Great topic, I read through the last two pages and I figured I'd toss my two cents in. I pretty much agree with what everyone's already said in here. Vanilla minecraft is great, but it doesn't really provide a sense of direction other than explore/mine. The tech tree, so to speak, really doesn't exi...
