Re: Retro SciFi Texture Pack (Updated July 15)

Another update, now including the 2.80 additions. Highlights: I've added pigs, cows, and sheep complete with breeding harnesses. I've also added squids and some RandomMobs villager variants. My favorite change is that the battle axe is now an animated reciprocating bonesaw! Burgers and TV dinners ar...

Re: Higgs Boson

On topic: I think the Higg Boson is an exciting discovery, as it really takes everything we "knew" about particle physics, and basically says "everything you know is wrong." The discoveries that this could lead to in the future could shape mankind's technological development for...

Re: Retro SciFi Texture Pack (Updated June 27)

(Apparently bumps change the date of the last post. Decanet's post above is old.) I decided I should post that the pack was updated yesterday (changed the OP). Highlights of this release include: -All vanilla guis done -Most hostile mobs done -Xtreme Paintings mod support (some paintings are still b...

Re: [Spoilers] Soulforged steel discoveries

It's probably to do with the effect that when you fill your hunger bar, you can actually start draining stamina for a while before the hunger bar starts being affected. If you wanna do a proper scientific test, I would recommend handcranking until your stamina is empty, then eat 1 cooked steak and ...

Re: [Spoilers] Soulforged steel discoveries

Maybe is my imagination but I think the hunger bar empties faster when you are wearing the soulforged steel armor. I thought so too. I sprinted a few laps through my subway tunnel with and without, but due to the idiosyncrasies of the hunger bar, I wasn't able to determine much. I always carry a fe...

Re: Show us your builds!

I decided to share the wheat farm I made: http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/3697/20120526104712.png There are two block detectors wired into an AND + monostable circuit along the top. The circuit pulls the pistons back under the block dispensers to dislodge the wheat, which falls into a stream below....

Re: Add placenta to animal birthing

Sounds like it may be time to fully enclose my beef factory to avoid offending delicate Victorian sensibilites. But this time there will be two private viewing windows... - Native Hawaiians believe that the placenta is a part of the baby, and traditionally plant it with a tree that can then grow alo...

Re: BD based minecart arrival/departure station

I don't think there's anything wrong with the video, it's just that there's no animation for carts being placed or sucked up. I've since figured it out.

Have you updated to 3.61 yet? The cart placement is different now, which broke my test rig.

Re: BD based minecart arrival/departure station

Just confirming that the BDs and their wiring was in the video was enough. I couldn't tell the carts disappearing and reappering from cuts in the video or glitches.

Re: BD based minecart arrival/departure station

I have a large subway system that depended on glitch boosters. It has been abandoned since, but you've inspired me to try fixing it again!

I'd like to know how you setup the BDs to place and remove carts? I don't think I saw them in action in the video.

I am pleased to hear that those details have made an impression, ialdbaoloth! I hope you aren't disappointed by the dungeons though--I actually haven't seen either type with my textures yet. I'm already working on your suggestions for the next release, as they were things I had considered myself.

Bloodwood leaves texture unused

From 3.58-3.59, and possibly earlier, Bloodwood leaves are just red tinted versions of the applewood leaves, when there's a texture for them on the sheet. I seem to recall Gil had made a texture for them in Jolicraft (it presumably worked then). I gave them tentacles in my pack, but right now nobody...
