Re: Hodor!!!!! - Game of Thrones spoilers

Watching Arya disappear into an uncaring crowd was even better than vanishing into the river if you're looking for ambiguity. I was referring to the Hound tho. Seeing him turn revenant is going to be interesting and they put a hell of a lot of effort into his character development over the course of...

Re: Hodor!!!!! - Game of Thrones spoilers

I dunno, there may not have been anything truly earth shattering, but holy hell! A character that we've come to love actually survived!

Re: Hodor!!!!! - Game of Thrones spoilers

I don't revel in character deaths but it does annoy me when a show kills off secondary characters for cheap thrills. It's a symptom of weak writing that indicates that the arc is going to fall apart before the story can be properly told. I did honestly believe for awhile that Martin couldn't achieve...

Re: Hodor!!!!! - Game of Thrones spoilers

That moment when someone you saw as a hero of the story turns out to be a monster. I started crying almost as soon as young Willis collapsed.

Even so, I couldn't help noticing the lack of music as the credits rolled. That was perfection of design.

Re: Dawn of war 3

Those Eldar walkers looked more like Wraithlords than titans to me. I want to be pumped about this but Relic lost the last of my goodwill when they screwed me over with Company of Heroes 2. On the upside for 40k gaming, Battlefleet Gothic is everything I could have asked for from an adaptation of th...

Stellaris

I know it won't even be released until May 9th but I cannot contain my excitement this time. This is Paradox we're talking about, using all of the systems and experience they learned from Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron, and Victoria, to make the game they always wanted to do. It's been awhile since ...

Re: Stardew Valley

Honestly I can see this game being one that would be more fun with two people sharing a couch and discussing where to go and how to spend the energy for the day. It would certainly be easier to manage than multiple farms and more than one person spending energy to develop the plot would totally alte...

Re: Soylent (But not green)

I'm not a fan of liquid foods so as an alternative I use dried and flaked sweet potato. It's nutritionally complete, dirt cheap, and once you do the prep work to flake it, is basically finished. As a bonus it has a good texture that can be improved by adding things like peas, beans, mushrooms, etc t...

Re: cool design for a vMC mobfarm

This is pretty much how we built mobtraps when renewablock still worked. The mobs would wander off the edge on their own. Only thing you ever really had to worry about was skeletons firing as they fell or a zombie landing on you getting in a lucky hit before they died.

I need help deciding whether to pick up Mordheim this week. On the one hand, it's the best game ever to be published by Games Workshop. Well, maybe tied with Battlefleet Gothic. Anyway, the price tag is basically the difference between spending time with actual live humans when I see Deadpool on Thu...

Re: Arcen Games in trouble, again

This is the first Arcen title I'm not buying. I really wish I could but I can't justify spending the money right now on something I'll never play.

I hope that things do turn around though. I have a few friends who are into the twin stick scene that I may be able to convince.

Re: Aurora, a 4x space game with a complexity comparable to

From what I've been able to gather the weapon systems are sort of rock paper scissors. Missiles are useless against fighters but they get massacred by fast tracking beams while big ship have enough armor to tank beams but are too slow to evade missile bombardment without escorts dedicated to the role.

The reason he didn't attack while she was concentrating on the force is because he was trying to bring her over to his way. As for the kicking, it just wasn't her style. In her earlier fights with her staff she was all about throws to deal with someone inside her reach but even then she'd never fou...

Re: Quick question about BTW, And minecraft updates.

Because Flowerchild wound up having to remove everything added by the updates due to those features being generally very badly designed and updating to new versions was no longer worth the effort.

I should add that the movie was strong enough that I had an amazing theater experience despite the projector breaking down for fifteen minutes right at the climax of a chase scene and the child in front of me rocking his seat into my knees throughout. Other than that one bloke killing his dad, or th...
