Re: water in nether
are you okay with cheating ice in? or the water block itself? IC^2 allows for you to compact snow into Ice.. I know this is a separate mod from BTW, but it is a Forge mod.. which means it's an option that you can have... Other than that, windmills are simply a better option for mechanical power, or...

Re: ASK ABOUT BTW UPDATE TO 1.8 = GET BANNED
i was trawling through notches tweets and noticed this one from yesterday: The reason we're releasing stuff so closely now is a push before the release in November! Server admins and modders, have patience. ;) so it's probably going to be like this for at least the next month and a half Pretty much...

... As Batto said: Notch does not have anything against modders since it is what's keeping minecraft alive for a lot of users. It wouldn't be good business to counteract them and Mojang knows this. Saying anything else is just... false. I'll believe it when I see it... plus: "We retain the rig...

Re: MCForge is awesome...
Magus, in April there was a post on Notch's blog that stated that Mojang wanted to set up a sytem that allows mod developers to sign up for full access to the code. I highly doubt that there's any plans for that to change, especially when you consider that modding is what keeps players interested i...

Re: MCForge is awesome...
I sincerely hope Notch keeps adding lots and lots of aesthetic blocks. If he manages to use up enough, he'll effectively break modding and will have to come up with a block ID solution. So keep bugging him about more aesthetic blocks :) Or... he'll accomplish the goal of disallowing modding in the ...

Re: 1.73 anyone?
I attempted it anyway by plugging in the seed numbers for new worlds... I'm not quite sure if the biomes are as readjusted as it seems, or if this modification is from a few changed lines that Notch added in per seed... Regardless, I'm not going to worry about it either way, as I'm a little fond of...

Re: 1.73 anyone?
i'm kinda enjoying my world in 1.8 because I'm building everything I need to prepare for the BTW upgrade/expansion pack. I even have my typical 5x5 elevator hole going down to level 12 already set up. Aside from things like ender pearls, stacked food, etc, 1.8 generated maps are fully compatible wi...

Re: 1.73 anyone?
Anyone still playing 1.73? Please chime-in if so. I'm considering starting work on a new release for 1.73 since it's beginning to look like Minecraft won't stabilize enough to do a proper release for the newest version anytime soon. I've been occupying my free time playing Fallout: New Vegas the pa...

Besides, this is less about resource management (Collecting the water or lava) and more about terraforming (Moving the wa...

You make it sound like he's doing it on purpose. Notch is in a catch 22 with this, if he doesn't release patches people complain about the bugs, when he does they complain it breaks the mods! Mojang does not yet officially support modding (even if they appreciate some of the cool mods people make a...

The teleportation is enough of a formidable feature that they have... No need for the block removal because then it becomes 'NPC grieving' at that point..

Re: My 1.8 observations
I actually quite like this feature and has made cave spelunking more fun. I always hated the "chow down on cooked pork and heal instantly" thing. Now there is more of a "Take time to recover and luick your wounds" feel to combat which is good. This combined with blocking makes f...

Happy to hear you had a great time... and don't feel rushed about updating either.. 1.7.3 is still very attractive atm, and the only things that are 1.8 now are Modloader and MCP.... (idk if SpaceToad is responsible for a 1.8 MCForge or not)...

You can rest assured I'll find a solution to this once 1.8 is out and I have my hands on the code. Obviously, one of the focuses of this mod is to provide ways to automate various tasks, and the Planter is designed to act as perfect growing conditions for whatever you may plant on it.
