Re: Archimedes' screw using turntable
Nice! I would so make one of these if it didn't require so many BDs. However no reason it shouldn't work with (sticky?) pistons instead, unless the items pop out into the shaft area of the piston instead of rising, in which case you'd need another row of pistons to reset it afterwards (one normal pu...

Re: New Release! (BTW Version 2.70)
Doh! I just closed Minecraft for the night, and thought I'll just check what's on the forum. I could have been playing with turntables instead of mining (and finding very little). Oh well Friday in an hour and I'll play then (well maybe I'll sleep and play after work), can't wait! Edit: Oh man, I ju...

Re: I have a dream
For the non-working last image, I can't see exactly what this is trying to do, did you want an RS-NOR latch, so the detector rail switches on the hopper/starts the timer, then when the timer goes off, the hopper is turned off again/launchs the minecart? You can get a better picture from the minecraf...

Re: Mechanical Power idea - Wheel of pain/Arrastra
I could see this as a valid alternative to the waterwheel if it also made wolves poop more often (since they are more pooped?), but required topping up with food to keep the animals turning it. Might be a bit over powered then though, although to automate this from a hopper would be problematic as t...

Re: New Release! (BTW Version 2.66)
Ah, thanks for the clarification, I'll work on a redstone only version then, I think I've found a simple enough way to do this elegantly with redstone that doesn't require a separate mountain beside the one I've got the shaft in to house the circuitry. Guess my wolves will have to wait for their mul...

Re: Open Design Discussion: Turntable
Hmm, but then it would have to or couldn't (depending on design decision) rotate the block attached to the sticky piston, which would then have to handle cases where there was a block in the way of the object attached to the sticky piston being rotated, does it phase through, push it out of the way,...

Re: Open Design Discussion: Turntable
True, but I figured the turntable would have a specific facing even if the block on top did not match it, or did not have a distinct direction. I also wasn't sure if you were going to change the curved rail to keep it's curve on rotating, I imagine the default snapping to other tracks behaviour will...

Re: Open Design Discussion: Turntable
How about it can only be powered mechanically from below, and each of the four side faces are redstone inputs. It simply rotates to which ever has power (direction can either be shortest distance or always clockwise). Perhaps the turntable as described will have to be a multi-block solution? Turntab...

Re: New Release! (BTW Version 2.66)
Hmm, rail and redstone on platforms sounds awesome. I haven't built an elevator yet as I was waiting for the lenses to simplify the circuitry. The other reason is I have eight or nine floors as my vertical mineshaft (from clifftop) also houses hemp farm, ground level door, passage to two surprisingl...

Re: Suggested additional mod to use with BTW
Not really the right topic mht03110, but check you are using the new recipe as per the MC forum page, it has changed, and perhaps not been updated in all guides yet? Edit: to clarify, it is now all smoothstone, no cobble at the bottom. On topic, since everything is now updated to 1.7.3, I'm going to...

Re: How do you make the pulleys and everything?
A simple way to check this is to install Too Many Items or Item Ids, both should show the extra blocks if BTW is installed correctly.

Re: What happens with the blocks when minecraft updates?
Yeah, I have separate chests for each mod that adds items due to this, and don't touch them if the mod isn't up to date yet. I have a chest with coral in it that I've covered with dirt so I don't accidentally open it since the coral mod isn't updated yet.

Re: from hopper to minecart
Simplest approach would be a delay using repeaters. Have a detector plate on the way to the hopper send a signal to a chain of repeats at their maximum setting. Then the cart comes to a rest on an unpowered booster track with the hopper above. Once the timing is up it sends a signal to the gearbox d...

Re: detector block delay idea
Just use a monostable circuit between your detector block and the pistons, it ensures the pistons will fire once and turn off again, even though the detector block will see the piston in front of it. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Redst ... le_Circuit

Re: A new age of Gunpowder production!*Suggestion*
It used to be named sulfur (official chemical name now by the way, sulphur was deprecated), but too many people complained, so Notch renamed it to gunpowder since it was closer to it's actual in game use.

Re: help with a mob trap
My last dungeon spawner mob trap, I dug the floor out, put down water so they are all pushed to one wall. Mobs then dropped down to a single wide channel of water and were pushed into a saw at head height, items flowed underneath to a small room where I stood AFK. You won't be able to use this if yo...

Re: I can't find wolves for dung.
I'm quite sure it isn't the trees that allow the wolves to spawn, rather it's the biome (forest or taiga), and you can't change what biome you are in, you just have to go to a new one. Instead of moving house or changing map though, why not take a quick trip though the nether and create a new portal...

Re: [Help] Downloading BTW
Oh, I didn't even know about a non-Risugami Modloader. I've seen one other post about installation problems, but they had different errors. If you think it would help and is clear enough, feel free to create one, but it would probably have to be stickied by a moderator to be noticed by people having...

Re: [Help] Downloading BTW
I think he just means the regular modloader. There is no specific BTW modloader version. When it goes to a black screen, it will sometimes go to an error screen after that (although it can take a long time), this would be helpful to see what the error might be if you do already have modloader instal...

Re: crash
What zip utility are you using? This seems to be the problem based on the error message complaining about the zip file. Try using WinRar, as this should have no problems, whereas winzip, or standard windows built in zip may have trouble with the minecraft.jar file. Also if you are on Win 7, use 64bi...
