Re: S tarting Over, again

Suffering from OCsoD (Obsessive Compulsive start over Dissorder) I know the problems well. What I'll say here is about bad hard drives. I use Dropbox and copy my world onto there. Not only does this permit me to continue playing elsewhere, ex work, by copying to a different pc but makes a great and...

Re: help please can't find a wolf

This issue is one of the reasons I like to start a new map with a massive logging effort. Set up a base camp, start clearcutting as you explore and begin your mining and nether exploration. By the time you find wolves you will have a windmill or two, plenty of livestock, all the materials you need ...

S tarting Over, again

Well, for the second time in 6 months I've lost a hard drive on my computer, and likely, my current Minecraft world. Thinking about starting a new world, I realized that I pretty much start all my worlds the same way. Spawn new worlds until I find an interesting one, build some tools, plant some see...

Re: SSP world revert?

ah, I have both 32 bit and 64 bit versions installed (since chrome only seems to like 32 bit). Well that's interesting. How do you force windows to run MC with 64 bit then, or how do you check to see which java version it's using? MultiMC 4 launcher app allows you to set a custom path to Java for e...

Re: Bets on Mojang adding meteors

Is it really that bad to have the risk of random damage to your buildings? I would trade that for the feeling of a more dynamic world. Granted, it would be nicer to have the ability to build stronger structures to guard against natural disasters, but imagine the tales you could tell of reclaiming a ...

Doesn't the Steel Battleaxe have the same sort of tree-feeling ability? I stopped using Treecapitator because I thought there was a latter-game equivalent power to earn.

Re: Logic's Non-magical Wolves add-on[WIP]

Anything you can do for Wolves would be much appreciated. I'm finding it nearly impossble to get my wolves into my poop machine. It's 8 blocks away from the kennel and they go everywhere but where I need them to go, and then find a way to kill themselves. It's funny when I kill myself comically. The...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.55)

Honestly, I had been thinking for a few days about building some roads in my world. Each direction along the coast and one inland through the woods I keep getting lost in. I was even going to post asking how other people built their roads. I guess I'll find out with everyone else. Thanks Flowerchild...

Re: Help Finding Villages/Certain Biomes In MC

just a word of advise for your own enjoyment. try to limit (or entirly eliminate) your use of external programs such as admist and stuff, i used to use them alot as well and as time went by i found it was only takeing away from the enjoyment of the game. after a while i had decided to just start a ...

I didn't add anything back in yet, but there is no indication that anything on my profile is disabled. I do be...

Re: Weekly Feature Showcase - This Week: Stakes

I'm digging channels in the rock every 8 blocks laterally and vertically. I discovered a zombie spawner rather deep and across a ravine. I used stakes from my surface to bedrock access hole to the ravine and approximated the rest of the distance to the spawner. I ascended and created another vertic...

Modern? Ummm...dude... Origin: 1250–1300; Middle English cistern ( e ) < Latin cisterna, equivalent to cist ( a ) ( see cist1 ) + -erna noun suffix Or more detailed on the roots: cistern mid-13c., from O.Fr. cisterne, from L. cisterna "underground reservoir for water," from cista "ch...

Re: A Fresh Start

So, I just thought I would share. Using MultiMC, I created a new instance to run a vanilla 1.4.2 world. I spawned in a Taiga, and had to smile when I saw half a dozen wolves in site of the spawn. Wolves always seem easy to find, except when I have bones in my inventory and BTW installed :-). So I wa...

I've been thinking about this too. Had a couple of ideas,' - Obviously, it's BTW, so you need wood and water nearby. If there's water above you, so much the better. You also need water to fish in, to help with the early food hunt. - A nearby desert, besides being a good place for your first windmill...

Re: Turn based stratagy as kids?

When we were kids, PC games were difficult to find as they hadn't been invented yet. All of our games were turn based, of course. Besides many different versions of D&D, we played a lot of Squad Leader, Star Fleet Battles, Panzer Leader, Ogre, Car Wars, Talisman, and even some train games.

I just upgraded, so I haven't left my base yet. However I am planning an expedition to find clay, and I'm finding that I'm having to think about the trip a lot more. When I went out to find wolves pre-HC, just about all I really needed was a bed. Of course, using Rei's it was basically impossible to...

When i made my first milll-stone and handcrank, I noticed the "gear" icon in the gui was only half full. I assumed that this was the gear I used in the recipe, being consumed through use. I spent hours trying place a new gear in the millstone or find a mention of replacing gears in the wik...
