Re: Spell Books (further use for enslaved souls)
Personally I think magic as it is represented in LotR (NOT the films by ANY shape or form, talking about the books here) is a perfect mix of subtle, mystical and mysterious effects. the fact that they are never fully detailed or "explained" is a huge plus too. Mostly yeh, I'm just re-read...

Re: Record Farm
Would need a way to detect when the creeper dies as well, so that the tunnel can be blocked with pistons or something to prevent the golem being shot while the next creeper drops in, unless half blocks can prevent it from being hit. I'm thinking maybe have a water stream going through the creepers p...

Re: Record Farm
Oh I thought when it blows up it drops the record. But that's easily enough fixed anyway, just add another block in between the skele and creeper. Creeper won't be able to do squat to either of them, and when the skele sees the golem behind the creeper, creeper gets shot and record drops. And yeh su...

Re: Record Farm
You could have a 1x2 tunnel, with a snow golem at one end, a creeper in the middle, and a skeleton at the other end. Snow golem would be separated from the creeper by 2 blocks, so the creeper can't blow it up. The skeleton is separated from the creeper by one block (so it can't slip past the creeper...

Re: My piston based auto tree farm.
You can place a detector block one block above the sapling to detect the trunk when it grows. However I think this may slow down the growth process a bit.

Re: A liquid for the nether
Tsk tsk dave you should know better :P FC has stated that as the nether is more important now, he's considering implementing some sort of transport system for it, possibly a liquid but maybe something more creative idk. Don't have the link to where he said it but you can search his posts easy enough...

Re: What is this forum's definition of 'necro'?
So it's a double standard depending on the intelligence of the poster then. Suspected as much since it's how most of the forum works xD (not that I have a major problem with it, it's refreshing, but it seems to be moving us towards elitism)

What is this forum's definition of 'necro'?
Just curious since I've seen people crying necro and threads being locked when someone posts a week after it 'died'. The 3.22 release thread was even called 'aging' when someone posted in it *2 days* after it died (and it's only been 8 days since BTW 3.22 came out). From other forums I use the gener...

Re: Updated John Smith textures for BTW?
Paint.net seemed alright to me, with the pixel snapping feature and the magic wand; just I couldn't figure out how to resize textures that I'd dragged a box around.
Anyway, any progress on the update?

Re: Considering dropping Forge
If it were me I'd go to the other major forge developers and get a crystal clear view on what their opinions are. If they agree with you, then the simplest solution to this would be to cut eloraam out of forge and steer it back on course. This has 2 major benefits: 1. You get more creative control i...

Rope can't be shot diagonally and sometimes the arrow will break blocks which is annoying, but otherwise it's a fun, polished mod that helps a lot in mountain climbing/cave diving.

Re: New Release! (BTW V3.0)
The easiest way to do that would be using GUI API, which is another add on we would have to download. But considering that Mo Creatures uses GUI API (and Audiomod), you can bet that a hell of a lot of people already have it.

Ability to close slots in the BD
Either that or fill them with something that can't be placed/spit out, similar to how clay works in hoppers. Example: My auto tree farm has a BD which plants saplings. At the moment, the BD has every spot filled with saplings, so it can only spit out saplings and not pull in a log when the tree grow...

Re: RTS goodness
An honest review for Stronghold 3 if anyone is interested:
http://theunplayables.com/2011/10/i-quit-stronghold-3/
There's some idiots on metacritic giving it 10/10, but I presume they havn't actually played it yet, or it's their first RTS.
