Re: [32x] Derivation [BTW 4.82]

This is just fricken' gorgeous. The item stack CITs are brilliant. The mold CITs (didn't get a chance to comment on that) I'm really liking as well. In truth, the old item texture I found distracting in crafting grids so I never used them before in the game. Your version though; I'm definately going...

Spawn With Axes [WIP]

Forward: I've ALWAYS hated punching wood. To me this has been the greatest failing of gameplay in Minecraft. Since the updates to pick-axes I've gone through the first hour of gameplay of BTW about a dozen times. LOTS of punching wood. With the new updates to wood (LOVE them after you get your first...

Re: [32x] Derivation [BTW 4.82]

Lovin' the darker stone stratas in this update. I don't have enough seeds yet to see how those play in-game. For CITs: - Arrows, most definately would like to see quiver variations for counts - Any ideas for rotten arrows as a CIT? - Although I'd love to see damaged weapons, I can't even imagine the...

Re: Early game after respawn

Yeah, I've had zero luck on new spawns if they don't occur near or on sunrise. Additionally, you REALLY don't want to respawn in a new area at night with meat walking around to be harvested. Within 3 nights all the nearby meat will be gone regardless of what you do. I've taken to staring at the resp...

Re: Mob Trap: A triumph for Hardcore Buckets

Definately a different take. I've never seen a mob trap that didn't use canals, even with HCB enabled. The common designs seem to be simple drop traps for early game and either ocean based or water tower fed canal designs for late game. Mid level traps usually use a flushing system on the pads drive...

Re: <pours one on the curb for timber and stone>

I cheated on my projects. I brought in a PR guy to handle most public content and help filter things, both ways. I did this from the beginning of projects, before any kind of outside influence could warp perceptions or influence interested fans. The other thing that I did was basically look at my us...

Re: <pours one on the curb for timber and stone>

OT - Where did the expression "pours one on the curb ..." come from? - searched but I can't find. It's from inner-city lingo. Specifically gangsta life crap and pouring one out for your dead homies. Back to the original topic, this developer mentioned placing a high price on beta access s...

Re: <pours one on the curb for timber and stone>

Indie's need to realize they're either making a single player experience or multiplayer experience. They don't have the man-power or budget to develop what's essentially two games in one. I've yet to see a single-player game where the multi-player wasn't a near complete reimagining of the game mecha...

Re: [32x] Derivation [BTW 4.81]

Thank you for your continued gift of this pack. I'm not just blowing smoke there. I've really grown to love Derivation and your interpretation of BTW into that style. The addition of CIT support, w00t! I was quite surprised to see that quiver in my inventory. Love the new item animations and Nitre's...

Re: Skeleton, oh how I hate you! [Death Stories]

Not a death, but today's stream had multiple close calls where skellies dropped down on top of me while I'm doing something else, or when I found a Creeper just chilling on the ice behind my farm waiting on me to come around and say hi. The worst one I've dealt with was early in my LP series when I...

Re: Skeleton, oh how I hate you! [Death Stories]

Now I just gotta figure out how to handle the random sneaky creeper surprise. They seem to be the ones killing me the most now. That one's pretty straightforward: don't mine anything until you've secured the surrounding area. In other words, make sure you explore tunnels branching off your current ...

Re: Skeleton, oh how I hate you! [Death Stories]

Woot! I actually managed to survive in an area long enough to reach multiple iron tools! I think I have skeletons figured out, atleast in cave scenarios. Basically run! Run until you can setup a barrier up and then whack 'em at your leisure. Now I just gotta figure out how to handle the random sneak...

Re: the biggest challenge?

I would say surviving long enough to get your first iron pick.

Enderdragon is pretty easy sauce with some good enchants.

Wither, I haven't taken on yet, but I imagine that one would be rather nasty with the new heal system.

Re: Skeleton, oh how I hate you! [Death Stories]

I had just broken into a new cavern above my current subterranean base... it was one of the larger caverns and had several spiders and skeletons in it. They all turned around at me at once and fired, but I ducked behind the entrance I had hewn from the wall. I took out my iron sword and hacked down...

To what purpose would you want this change/restoration of function? If the buddy is updating on grass spread anyways then the wool mahine works fine. You also won't get higher outputs...

LMAO!

My first name becomes 'Loser' and my last name becomes 'Cunning' from the side. So I guess I'm a cunning loser. No wonder I go by 'Hosed' online... Which becomes 'Hades' from the side. Man, I can't win for losing.

Skeleton, oh how I hate you! [Death Stories]

After the pick-axe update I've been finding that skeletons are the most evil mob in the game. Inevitably, shortly after I've reached iron at a given spawn point, I end up being brutalized by skeletons. There may be a zombie involved to help, or worse, a spider, but it's always the damn skeletons tha...
