Re: Dynamo - BTW/IC² Addon
I'm on MC Forum IRC right now... It seems that the post is been pick by the spam filter, and the moderator cannot allow it... So far I'm just waiting that someone with enough access comes online to fix it for me....

Re: Dynamo - BTW/IC² Addon
Looks like a version mismatch, the addon mod only works with IC v1.0, BTW 2.94 and Minecraft 1.7.3 at the moment. That ^ On another subject, I just tried posting this mod on MC Forums... As soon as I post I get to a page where it says "[#10344] You do not have permission to view this topic.&qu...

Re: Dynamo - BTW/IC² Addon
Wow, I'm sorry if my tone implied that, but I was not offended at all O.o You have a point, but there is really a fine line here.... If the current is too low people wont even bother to make dynamos.... solar panels are not that expensive. Or maybe they would, idk.... It just seems too much trouble ...

Re: Dynamo - BTW/IC² Addon
I don't really care about the general public, just the authors :P I'm also still trying to post a request to Alblaka to post the mod there. There seems to be something wrong with the IC² forum, I can't get in it... Keeps timing out.

Re: Dynamo - BTW/IC² Addon
Well, no... I didn't even consider that until you just mentioned. Ok, I guess I'll do that. I'll post the link here soon. Humm... There is something on the rules of MC forums to put licensing permissions on the mod page. So, do you think you could give me a hand with that? I wouldn't know what to pu...

Re: Dynamo - BTW/IC² Addon
Making axles lose power as they get farther from the source... I think that would be impossible without changing base classes, and anyway, what's the point? The minimum ammount of energy is 1EU and that would have the same issues. I could make an infinite array of gears and power an infinite array o...

Re: Dynamo - BTW/IC² Addon
I edited my first post to include the mod.
Edit. I just noticed there is no option to attach files on the forum. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could upload this?

Re: Dynamo - BTW/IC² Addon
While this sounds cool, I'm wondering if it is subject to exploitation. Since a single windmill can power a huge number of axles, couldn't you just have a whole bunch of dynamos linked to a single windmill/waterwheel? I suppose balance depends on resource costs in this case, so it would have to be ...

Re: Dynamo - BTW/IC² Addon
Hey man, I've got a patch ready that lets BTW axles power the redstone engine for BuildCraft for a higher energy result. I am planning some more of these small mods. You feel like joining forces? We could create a few of these glue mods Yeah, that would be great! You could help me do this damn text...

Re: Dynamo - BTW/IC² Addon
Thanks ^^ though but I've been programming java for a couple of years, so it wasn't really so hard... Setting up MCP was the real pain in the ass :P
Cool then. As soon as its done I'll post it here.

Re: Dynamo - BTW/IC² Addon
Nah, I had already thought about that. All new class files. I did use your gear box code as a base, well, I needed a starting point, this is actually the first time I try to make a mod. Is that ok?

Dynamo v1.36 - BTW/IC² Addon
FC, i'have been working today on an addon to IndustrialCraft²/BTW. Its a dynamo, a block that converts mechanical energy from BTW into electricity from IC². Its mostly done, I've tested it and so far it works without any problems. It has one input and one output of 3EU, slightly better then a solar...

Re: Flippers
About uses specific with BTW... I was reading the SMP thread and something comes to mind... Well, since water is not opaque, making a base hidden just under the ocean might be interesting and allow for windmills to work. A diving dress would be really cool... Also could give another interesting use ...

Re: The BTW Utopia Challenge
I believe this texture replacement problem has to do with the order of instalation of forge and other mods, and with MC Patcher and HD textures... I don't remember how I fixed it, though, sorry :P

Re: Buildcraft automation
It's a matter of how the game works actually. Remember the 4 bits of meta data ? If you'd be able to place it on the walls, you'd need more data, so you'll end up with a redstone current going only 3 blocks away. Or you'll have to increase the data for redstone, with tile entities, but since it's a...

Re: Buildcraft automation
I mean, you can't put it on walls? Why? Because oddly enough, dust doesn't tend to stick to walls as well as it does the floor. While I feel that notch should perhaps have included some form of actual 'wire' as opposed to leaving it as dust, I'm happy with vannilla redstone. It's easy enough to use...

Well, not really. I'm mean, I'm not thinking of monsters, but of smp and other players... I mean, if another player goes in your house. But yeah, just that one use wont really justify making speakers....

Re: Speakers
There is an aspect of that that could be useful. Setting alarms. You put the speaker near you, and if someone intrudes on your house it turns on and plays... But its true that doesn't seem to fit with the BTW technological level, at least for now...

Re: Buildcraft automation
I personally think the way vanilla redstone works should have been improved in the first place. I mean, you can't put it on walls? Why? To make it more challenging? Really? Or maybe it was just too tough to code it in the first place, so it just stayed this way? I'm not trying to bash Notch, I just ...
