Re: Embargo Lifted! (Open Early Game Discussion)
I found that travel beyond HCS range is heavily rewarded. I spend enough time to get a large amount of bricks and a chisel, then travel in one direction by day, killing along the way for food, digging in and cooking with a cosy oven by night, harvest string and restock tools them continue traveling....

Invisible shafts
Strange bug where if a shaft is immediately south of a half dirt slab that has grown grass, with a solid block on the other side of the slab (ie north), the north face of the shaft is transparent. I can only reproduce with grass half slabs, no other I tried. Example images (spoilered for large size)...

Re: Question about BTW V4.AAAAAAAAAAHHHH (Spoilers?)
Having played through it fully a few times now (and partially more times than I can count), I know that it's balanced on such a razor's edge that just when you think you've got things under control it can turn on you in an instant. Honestly, I'm really proud of the degree to which I find it is bala...

Re: [1.5.2] [4.891] Biomes O' Plenty 0.0.9 - BTW Edition
Does anyone know how to update an existing world (server) to the new generator? I've tried NBTEdit on level.dat, but whenever the server gets reset the generatorname keeps resetting to default. When I start a new world the generatorname is set to BIOMESOP and generates the new terrain as expected, b...

Re: A BTW SMP plugin - clan based pseudoanarchy [planned]
I have some ideas about how this could be implimented as gameplay, if you want input. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing what becomes of this. Yes, definitely. That was partly the reason for this thread. I would love to get started on this now, but it pretty much has to wait for the SMP mod code t...

Re: A BTW SMP plugin - clan based pseudoanarchy [planned]
The renewable block is formed slowly from a single source. This is harvestsble (creating a nidus for PvP) and then processed in various ways to create blocks giving the clan functionality. This processing would require btw tech and be automatable, but the harvest wild be mostly manual (or at least o...

A BTW SMP plugin - clan based pseudoanarchy [planned]
So, I'm planning a return to minecraft modding, and with the recent SMPisation of BTW, and some preliminary play on lifeiwater's server, I have an idea for an SMP plugin Basically it adds allows for faction based pseudo-anarchy style play. In brief typing this from my phone), it adds a block that is...

Re: Proposed BTW / (?BTB) add-on - Railcraft compatibility
Thanks for at least taking the time to consider it. I guess that means I'll wait for the BTW API and then make my own minecart / rail mod, with apologies to CJ for some of the functionality that would be reproduced. I assume this is also an answer to the other thread asking about redistribution of m...

Re: BTB Discussion Point: Striped Pipes
How about a replacement pipe instead and remove the striped version? It would mean a bit more work but not need to modify the BC code if you could have a version of the striped pipe that only works as a block dispenser and doesn't use any items. Is there really any difference between this and just ...

I'm surprised this thread reached 3 pages without a mention of Robin Hobb. The Farseer Trilogy are my favourite books of all time. If you like your fantasy a bit darker, I'd recommend them. I can second a lot of the recommendations earlier in the thread. I think the Belgariad especially is a good &q...

Re: Proposed BTW / (?BTB) add-on - Railcraft compatibility
My understanding is that FC is working on an API so that other mods can tie into BTW with little or no effort on FC's end, so wouldn't it make more sense to pressure the creator(s) of Rail Craft to essentially create the BTR compatibility patch? Even still what's to stop an independent party from t...

Re: Proposed BTW / (?BTB) add-on - Railcraft compatibility
Just keep in mind guys, my standard answer to this would be 'no'. If I do decide to allow something like this, it would be a big exception, and would possibly open a huge can of worms with regards to similar projects. I just wanted to not respond to this while I'm not in my right mind, so please ma...

Re: The Mod All-Star Team (best blocks and items from all mo
I had a similar outcome from (what I assume is) a bug back in 1.7 or 1.8. I have no idea how they multiplied so much, but this sounds like what you're talking about.
