Re: Better than...snow-men?

This guy doesn't look to abominable.

Although I kind of like this:
It will be craftable, is friendly, and throws snowballs at enemies. Also melts in hot biomes.
You could create your own snow person army to protect your snow castle.

I guess there is always the issue of semantics. Species was the wrong word.
However, I don't believe anything else I said was inherently false.

Re: Hemp

Hemp and marijuana are 2 species of the cannabis plant. The difference being similar of that between 2 breeds of dog. They share similar characteristics but are in fact very different. @gftweek: Spot on. Edit: Oh, except that unfortunately hemp isn't really more legal. In fact it is quite illegal, m...

Hempsters: Plant the Seed Just watched this documentary last night and it was extremely interesting. I hadn't quite understood the difference between what is called "industrial hemp" and what most people know as marijuana. Basically industrial hemp won't get you high, unless you put A LOT...

Re: My 1.8 observations

Passive mobs don't spawn on islands in ocean biomes, so the island map I generated makes food a problem until I can kill a spider or 2 for a fishing rod. (got 1 seed for wheat from the 10 or so tall grass on the island) Bone meal when used on a grass block will spawn more tall grass in a 2-3 block ...

Re: MCForge is awesome...

I would say he isn't really hurting anyone, no. However, he is making the community choose between his mods or forge mods and for some that's a tough decision. I personally think the Aether would lend itself well to some BTW functionality. The other things is the whole "for profit" issue. ...

Re: ASK ABOUT BTW UPDATE TO 1.8 = GET BANNED

I really don't understand how Mojang expect to stick to their own schedule - I don't want to knock them for being open and upfront, but I really think they should be expecting to slip. They have cited a release in a couple of months and in between now and then, they expect to get 1.9 out the door t...

I've certainly been able to find more dungeons than I ever had before. Only thing I can't find is strongholds, but that's something Mojang is going to take care of in the future anyway.

Re: Ravines

I've seen some pretty big ones.
I wish I had saved the seed, but on the pre-release I was just generating map after map and on one I stuble across a ravine that was maybe 10-15 at it's widest and had to be close to 100 long.

I think it's really cool and adds a lot of character and realism to the world. The problem is the lack of speedy reliable transport.

Extended Tools

I keep going back and forth on this idea. I think it's useful and fits the theme of BTW, but I just don't know how realistic or balanced it would be. It's like this, I'm cutting down an extremely large tree and it just sucks to have to build dirt scaffolding to get the high logs. If there was an axe...

I don't think he's back from vacation. Even if he is, he relies on other tools that needed to be updated before he can update BTW. These tools and most mods won't be upgraded until the official release.

Edit: The tool he uses is the "Minecraft Coding Package".

I agree here. I think at the very least it should make 8 torches, since nethercoal burns twice as long.

In the future, I would suggest making only 1 suggestion at a time though.

That would be perfect. I wouldn't mind needing to place torches closer together, as long as there was a way to make it so I could see.
