Re: Are the Don't Starve Devs playing BTW?
It seems an out-dated mod called "peaceful pack" used niter as a resource quite a while before BTW did. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/368468-181-peaceful-pack-v52/#sulphur Only reason i remember it is Painterly texture pack used to come with textures for it. Guess its more likely tha...

Re: Respiration On Plate Helm
Speaking of which, can we safely assume that squid will be the source of respiration? If so, I can start work on a massive squid farm in a landlocked area once I finish up my crucible/kiln setup. Though I understand if you have something much cooler in mind and wish to keep it a secret. Yeah, that'...

Re: Farewell old Halfslab 44:6, you made my builds beautiful
they're still there, for some unknown reason they moved them to 44:7 rather than putting the new netherbrick ones in that ID. I guess it is for consistency, so the obtainable blocks are grouped together, but its still stupid when its messed with so many peoples builds. anyway, Quick MCedit find and ...

Feeding Lexmanos to the wolves
While not a serious idea, the turn of phrase struck me as being amusing enough to suggest it.
So the idea is that Heads thrown on the ground would be consumed by wolves. Whether they are of sufficient nutritional value to the pups is a matter for you to consider.

Re: a way of farming cocoa beans
What about redstone, glowstone dust, and gunpowder? I'll admit I forgot about those, as I was meaning the "main" ingredients providing the potion effects, and forgot about those 3, which "augment" other potions. Even so, it would be pretty hard to say that redstone and gunpowder...

Re: a way of farming cocoa beans
Could be a good future ingredient for potions. If so, then a cocoa plant would be useful, but too powerful if not balanced correctly. ANYTHING could be a potion ingredient. Seriously, the potion system is like the dumping ground for features that Mojang added to the game which didn't have a proper ...

Re: Expensive repairing method that retains enchantments
I find the randomness of the enchanting system quite frustrating, i have literally filled a chest with level 40+ diamond picks over the last few days trying to get a fortune 3 pick (this was probably a streak of bad luck, but and don't really want to have to be doing that again in a hurry. perhaps i...

a way of farming cocoa beans
While over on the black dye thread, Stormweaver referred to black as the new brown, and it made me think of how rare brown dye is, and that maybe a way to grow cocoa beans may fit nicely here. It might provide a new automation system, it has at least a basic use currently, and could have more tacked...

Re: Carbon powder as a black dye
Nope, I'm not doing anything that nerfs mob traps. I agree with this. Don't take away unique challenges. Especially for an ability that is in no way necessary. personally a bit torn myself. on the one hand a squid farm is a unique challenge (even more so after their behaviour has changed so they do...

Re: New Release! (BTW V2.99)
We can't place lava sources and to my knowledge the furnace eats the bucket. Is it really worth the effort to save someone three iron if they use magma as fuel? If it eats the bucket, I couldn't care less. However, the previous poster was saying this is no longer the case. EDIT: Tested and it DOES ...

Re: Sorting loot
well, if FC plans to break seeded hoppers, I'd assume either he doesn't want us completely automating item sorting, or he already has something planned, maybe further down the tech tree to do this.

Re: Sorting loot
I'd like to see some other way of sorting items. Maybe a block detector with a item slot in it, and it'll only activate when that item passes in front of it. If something like that comes around I'm going to have to make a giant item sorting system so I can just throw all my loot/tools/food/whatever...

Re: Sugarcane farm (compatible with hemp)
haven't downloaded it yet for a proper look, but will have a look later. sounds very impressive but rather than using counters their are ways with BTW to detect when a hopper is full (a full hopper gives off a redstone signal), which could be used instead to tell a full cart to leave and a new one t...

are you putting BTW inside the jar file? Yep You have to open the MINECRAFT-JAR folder inside the BTW jar.
