While looking for a dessert temple, I found a village, with potatoes. After collecting them, I continued to roam when I heard lava. For some reason I wanted to find it, so I dug up 1 sand and the blocks around me fell and I dropped into the lava and died.

This is happening to me to, but with just the hopper. The exp orbs drop out and teleport about 2 blocks away.
