Re: Unofficial mod compatibility list for BTW
Peaceful Pack works fine [no I don't play on peaceful! I just like options..] (blockIDs need tweaking, but there's a config file for it), Seasons mod works fine (make sure you use BTW's ru.class or else rely on hoe+grass for your hemp seeds), Harvestcraft works fine - however, the previous version d...

Modding Your Mod
Were someone to want to use BTW items in the recipes of their mod, or apply mechanical power to items in their mod, how would they go about doing that? I'm not ready to do so quite yet, but I would like to add integration between your mod and my upcoming mod in an optional patch (that way I can cont...

Re: IMPORTANT: Upcoming changes
One thing's for sure, if Notch had half the work ethic/speed that you do, Minecraft as it will be at release would have been completed in a few months rather than a few years, heheh. I've yet to be disappointed by a change or addition to this mod (I've followed it since it was a new mod, even though...

Yay, rebalance in the exact area(s) I sensed problems! :D
I didn't think of changing the saw to address them - this will be interesting. I can't wait to see how you rearrange and change this. :3

Re: Fabric recipe
Why not just power the bellows with the hand crank? Yeah, some ppl should just actually play the mod w/o inventory-editors. Everytime I read about windmills and waterwheels the first thing that comes to my mind is: What slimes? Why would you bother with a Windmill ? Why not just use a handcrank? Wh...

I've always wanted to do this too, but I'm not sure it belongs in this mod, or if it would better be addressed in another - just don't know.

Re: New Release! (Version 2.91!)
Recycling sounds iffy to me too, but for a bit of a different reason - as you use tools, break them, etc. - material is lost. You can't just resmelt the same tool hundreds of times - after a point there are diminishing returns, and you need to add more material to recreate the tool. I'm not sure tha...

Re: FlowerChild: MC Forge + ItemSpriteAPI.. Requires a Patch
I contacted him myself without knowing that, but I'm quite relieved to hear that. I've been talking to people like 303, and unfortunately they don't see the need for a unified API, nor the benefits to the community that embracing it could/would bring. They also don't think MC Forge will "catch ...

FlowerChild: MC Forge + ItemSpriteAPI.. Requires a Patch!
MC Forge is now required for BTW as of 2.90. FlowerChild chose to adopt this API due to a line of reasoning which I totally agree with. However, lots of mods use APIs that conflict with MC Forge (hopefully the number of APIs that conflict isn't too high..), and need patches to inter-operate until (a...

Re: Can't Place My Windmill... D:
Oh yes, the torch! That must have been it. Very picky windmills, aren't they? xD I'm having trouble getting mechanical power to travel down into the base now - I read at some point that up to three axles can be used in series, but if I make 3 go down from that gearbox the power stops after two. I th...

Re: Can't Place My Windmill... D:
It's not the rope.. tried removing it. I did just find the size requirement on the wiki though (dunno how I missed it before) - 13x13x1. I'm going to go check.. Edit: Moving it forward one worked, but I'm honestly not sure why. There was space for 6 blocks on all sides of the thing, unless the 13x13...

Windmill Woes
http://imgur.com/l3ROX I made a windmill, took a long time. I actually could easily make a waterwheel about the same time, but I decided to sit there and gather/grind hemp and get the pretty one first. Anywho, I placed a gearbox, an axle, and then tried to place it - "Not enough space!" sa...

Re: Hand Crank + Minecart
I like the idea of giving a hand-powered cart an inventory, seems a great way to make it useful without making anything else redundant - it becomes a personal transport rather than part of the system. Another possible feature/alternative: How about if mechanically (or electrically, later down the BT...

Re: Windmill balance
How is it too hard to implement? You could use a cow, have a "taming" system on the cow (from a code standpoint, perhaps just right click on the cow with anything but an empty bucket from a user standpoint) that checks for a nearby "animal wheel", and if there is not one, do noth...

Re: Windmill balance
I was stuck with the handcrank up to the saw, because I didn't realize how much more complex the windmill was than the waterwheel, so shot right for it. I couldn't get the hemp to grow, since it was winter (seasons mod) and I ended up borking the world and deleting it, so I don't know if Id've gotte...

Re: Bellows ejecting dropped items from block in front
Forgive me if this has been said, but I like this idea due to this reason:
If you use a BD to take in a storage cart, you can then use bellows to blow the items off of the track, instead of having the conundrum of items laying on a track.

Re: Windmill balance
For what it's worth, I did bring up this point in my post, and it rather slipped away under the more prominent point I was making (and ceded in the end). Anywho, I still do think that there should be some more differentiation (or equalization) between the windmill and the waterwheel. It would be per...

Re: Extractor
Well if that's all feasible with the current blocks (albeit clunkier and more complex) then I am in agreement as well that the simpler solution I proposed be something to be looked at further up the techtree. :3 Using water by cart tracks probably isn't smart though, as it knocks the tracks out.. un...

Re: Extractor
You mean that thing you can already do by eating the block with a BD and placing a hopper->chest underneath? Yeah that works for chests, I suppose, but what about storage minecarts? Can a BD suck up a storage cart? Also, even if it can, the hopper would have to be placed where the track would have ...

Re: Simplicity vs. Realism Balancing - Ex. Wind Mill
Thanks for all of your arguments on the other side of my points, I do understand where you're coming from, at least after reading them all. I like to strike a balance between the simplicity of vanilla MC and the complexity shown here, but I can see that the majority of users (at least those who came...

Re: Simplicity vs. Realism Balancing - Ex. Wind Mill
Windmill can be used in the nether where the waterwheel cannot, and not everyone has luck finding slimes >.> Yeah I am aware of that - it is a small benefit, but not enough to justify the difference. Besides, let's be honest, who gives a damn about the Nether? :P (not many of us, I wager - at least...

Re: Simplicity vs. Realism Balancing - Ex. Wind Mill
A technology tree implies progress - a windmill or waterwheel both get the job done, but a waterwheel is FAR easier to construct, doesn't require maintenance, can function underground (without digging a nonsense shaft to the sky), and you can place the water wherever you want since Minecraft has suc...

First let me preface this by saying I mean in NO way to insult the mod or FlowerChild - both are brilliant. I have A.S. and sometimes come off as egotistical or some such without trying to - if that happens, then please try to understand. :P I have seen lots and lots of mods and games, and have noti...
