Re: Steam Sales

For the record, though, for those who still like the current system they always take snapshots of every final version of every major release. I'm still hopeful and intrigued the new system will be better, even if I like the old wormhole generators for how they help compartmentalize the area around ...

On which game? You quoted a sentence in which two are listed :) derp. Stellaris is getting a big update. Pretty sure he's referring to Stellaris. They've talked about how the next update changes the FTL (everyone uses hyperlanes with the other types being repurposed), how you claim a system (have t...

Re: Steam Sales

If you are interested in purchasing Stellaris, you should probably investigate whether you would prefer Distant Worlds Universe instead In case people don't know, a MAJOR free update will be underway (for stellaris) that will radically overhaul FTL, expansion, war and combat in general. If you're v...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

But really, BTW is very similar in nature. A game built out of the Minecraft platform. Not really how it started though. Initially it was just 6 blocks, in order to prove that with the time spent on wolves, Notch could've added a lot of use to the game in stead. Minecraft was hardly a "platfor...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

The issue with vanilla is that there is practically zero depth. Everything is handed to you at once, but there's not much to do with what you have. There's both a lack of progression and a lack of incentives to do things. I do think that 1.9 added a bit more depth to the combat system, but that's o...

[Still, I think it's amazing I still enjoy playing this game at all, after all these years :). I keep wanting to get into other games, like Darkest Dungeon, but I keep going back to Minecraft. I can't play for very long without quickly thinking all the way it can be done better. It's been years, an...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

1.9 combat overhaul was the best update in Minecraft's history, in my opinion, so that's not really fair to say. While survival needs a lot of love, they did just have a major overhaul to survival that really makes the game a LOT better. Food mechanics are kinda cool now, combat is just perfect (th...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

But hey, we got birds. "Great", uh. I just checked the wiki to see if this was true. Sadly, it is. Parrots, random new blocks and a ton of stuff on functions and command blocks. So i guess they have chosen to completely focus on the Mapmaking/adventure crowed and abandoned all plans of be...

Re: 4x Games

EU IV is a pretty fun game. The gameplay itself is not that complex, but due to the many countries, events and choices you can easily sink 60 hours into it and still feel like you're only barely competent. You could probably do a full playthrough of every nation 3-4 times without it feeling boring. ...

That is a very nice setup Devak! Good information as well. I was starting to get the grasp of pressurization but got hung up on "sorting" the air by filter. Also I was scared to death of contamination lol. Maybe I will wait a bit more, great to see the progress. I kept trying more don't s...

Re: "Combining" MC Saves

Cool, I didn't know that MC edit would copy BTW blocks as well. I'm going to play around with it for awhile. Thank you everyone. It's a program that moves around data. It doesn't know what that data represents unless it's specifically been coded to. So Block ID's, entities, metadata are all fine. I...

Re: "Combining" MC Saves

-snippy- I realized I would probably lose the BTW mod blocks I placed which is fine. McEdit actually has a nice system where it considers all 'unknown' blocks to be future blocks that it just hasn't been updated to see yet. So It will allow you to copy/paste without much issue. I think the biggest ...

I'd love to know what it was that made SG:U get canned so early. I thought it was great, and I can barely stand to watch TV these days. A deadly cocktail of being (Somewhat) different from it's predecessors, meddling with timeslots, MGM going bankrupt, being a more expensive series, groups of fans ...

Re: Reactor Idle and Factory Idle - assembly incremental gam

You don't need to keep idle games running? That's the whole point, they continue on when the game is not running? You can just forget them for weeks and come back and receive a bunch of progress. Factory Idle and Reactor Idle have about a 10% efficiency when running truly idle (so the game is close...

Re: Reactor Idle and Factory Idle - assembly incremental gam

I don't get why having to take a day or two between actions is a bad thing? Isn't that the whole point of an idle game, to gate your playing of the game over time? You guys make it sound like that's a flaw of the game, when it's obviously a decision, not a mistake. You might think the decision itse...

Re: Reactor Idle and Factory Idle - assembly incremental gam

This discrepancy grows and you need to interact less and less with the game Indeed. I think the maximum is about an hour or so between moves. The game (both Factory and Reactor) starts fairly fast-paced, and slowly the time between actions decreases. In a sense it feels Turn-based, where you take a...

Re: Hodor!!!!! - Game of Thrones spoilers

Anyone else got an opinion on translated books/movies/etc? Many authors often include little jokes that are often entirely lost in translation. So if i can, i watch things in english and without subtitles. Even subtitles are often wrong. Yeah, I'll have to disagree here. I think season 6 has the bi...
