Re: Hardcore Sinkholes... again

My most successful recent early-game was on a corner of a desert in an abandoned village. After wandering around extensively, there are a half-dozen holes that collapsed behind me, but I've never been sucked down (and use logs to fill the holes). At this point sinkholes have been a convenient way to...

Re: Climing ladders seems to sporadically consume hunger

Played with it a bit (4.AABBBbbbbb, on the pre-generated ladder in a desert village church). The case I found was: stand facing the ladder, tap W for an instant to start up, release, wait a few seconds to avoid sprinting, repeat. Every 4-7 times my food decremented. Same with a wool jacket or naked....

Re: Version 4.AAAAAAAAAAHHHH Hints/Help Request (MILD SPOILE

Unfortunately it takes a very long time to obtain sandstone. I don't think I will be able to continue with my desert settlement :( In the early game it's definitely slow. Once you're more established, you can manipulate the world to make it easier and handle larger volumes. Finding these tricks is ...

Re: Question about BTW V4.AAAAAAAAAAHHHH (Spoilers?)

Slightly different perspective, since I'm definitely in the "survival portion isn't your cup of tea" bucket and still bleeping stuck in that. I find it harder, but smoother. The game seems more specific about what you're supposed to do to make progress (after a few key spoilers). I'm dying...

Re: The Feature Request / Suggestion Thread - LIMITED TIME O

A way to quiet chest hinges (e.g. rubbing tallow on them). Ideally in-world to avoid emptying and refilling chests, maybe temporary. Thinking about the barrel discussion: Item frames for quick manual access to attached/adjacent chests (e.g. the common warehouse with an item frame beside each double ...

Re: Options file from new versions of MC cause 1.5.2 to cras

Quick fix: In options.txt, notice "version:922" and change the "lang:en_us" to "lang:en_US". That gets things working again, but switching between MC versions will cause the same problem. The new vMC threw away my music volume, so may just be ignoring all old settings. ...

Re: Tripwires sometimes being activated by items?

Pretty sure items activating tripwires is working as intended, and the same as vanilla. The usual workaround seems to be keeping the mobs alive in the areas you use tripwires, and then doing the final collection without tripwires. If you're accidentally drop-killing mobs while they're still up in yo...

Re: Mobfarm platform design

Tried a few quick tests in creative, so the usual caveats apply in addition to tiny sample sizes. Things I didn't know in advance, though maybe common knowledge :) Vine traps are considered a valid destination for pathing. Created a closed 5x7 box floored with 3x7 platform and 2x7 vine traps: spawne...

Memory is fuzzy, but I seem to remember there being problems when the wolf is sitting in a half-block. My last room was 5x5 slabs, except for a full block in the center with the wolf on it.

Re: Renewable Iron: Spawner vs Darkroom Trap

Are the adjusted spawner rates for equipped zombies really this abysmally low, or am I just off to an unlucky start? Or perhaps am I unrealistic with my expectations for the timeframe for renewable iron, even from a big darkroom trap? I don't get a lot of free time, but I understand if this sort of...

Re: Efficient Animal Killing Pits

Surface ravines are fun. I spent part of the first day elbowing animals over the edge, rode a waterfall down to collect, and it rained wolf-chops for several nights. Growl. Thud. Yelp. Early grain from a chest also works wonders for attracting fast food... but, yeah, pits are awfully efficient. It o...

Re: Repeater on turntable leaves elevated redstone powered

Already tried a set of piston combinations in vanilla (1.5.2 and 1.8.10), but never managed to reproduce the sticky charged block by fiddling with the repeater (short of just building a BUD next to it). Didn't find anything related in recipes or MC changelogs, though I wouldn't bet money on noticing...

Hence my request for someone to repro. Wandering naked in the wilderness makes it tricky to verify redstone bugs.

The overview page looked vaguely more informative https://hextcg.com/game/overview/. At least it was enough to tell me I wasn't even vaguely interested.

The Kickstarter was from 2013, so sorting it to the top just looks like stupid web design.

Hmm... mixed feelings. Agree money is infinite right now. Particularly since hitting Kerbin at all seems to recover most of the part cost. I find I'm using the science-yielding contracts as a way to avoid spamming the biome-specific-science-from-orbit, and as a quick "just need twenty more scie...
