It's been pretty inactive lately and I have been shutting my laptop off more often due to impacts to it's performance with being up 24/7.

Just a 16x6 rectangle with grass blocks surrounded by cobble. I'm trying out fenced areas with different surface areas.

How have you all built you animal enclosures? I built a 6x15 enclosure for 1 chicken and it ate all of the grass. That seems a bit excessive. I'd be curious to see how you've all done it. Ya, I figured it out.
If I remember right planters USED to grow without water.

I've recently got some planters up and going with light blocks above them, but they don't seem to be growing.
Plants are mellons in the back and hemp in the front.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

On weeds, I've built probably 1500-2000 blocks from spawn and I still have weeds.
Currently I just have to pay attention to the weeds.
I'm unsure if weeds grow in unloaded chunks.
I assume they don't.
I'll update if I can find a way to deal with them outside manual labor before pots.
