Re: BTW - Video Series List and Discussion Thread

I see a lot of video links but..do you guys actually watch each others' videos? I don't mean to sound rude. I see this is one of the more active topics on the forum, and I know lately Twitch and the like are all the rage, but... personally I only watch videos that show me how to build or do somethin...

Re: (Possible Spoilers)Help Finding Village

Another thing to consider is that leveling up villagers, because of the variety of items they want, is something that will be much more difficult and time-consuming if you start from a fresh base. I had a well-established base, mob trap and stores of items and leveling up my villagers is still a hec...

Re: Nothing to worry about?

At the risk of breaking rule #1, I still am unsure exactly about cats and nether influence. I guess I should assume from my experience that they are susceptible. If that's true then, what zany effect does it have on them?

Nothing to worry about?

So, one of the four kitties following me as I went through a portal (found em in the nearby jungle and I can't help but rescue strays) sure as heck seemed to be... altered. Much deeper sound like the other nether infected animals. I had thought cats weren't susceptible to nether infection? By all ap...

Re: [SPOILERZ] Hardcore Villagers trading mechanics.

Well, if it's any consolation, your own head can make for lovely decoration :) I found this out when working on my mob trap--live--and fell into the saws. I laughed, because it was an easily preventable death, and yet a surprise. It being active, my gear all dropped into the water stream and hopper...

Re: [SPOILERZ] Hardcore Villagers trading mechanics.

Is there some kind of consequence for killing villagers? I killed one and there was some strange particle effect that I don't know what it means, and I'm too scared to kill any more and maybe screw up my world in a permanent (or long term) way... I believe killing them could cause iron golems (if t...

It's not listed, but did you get around to implementing the fixes to sorting for witch drops you mentioned a while back?

At that instant it felt like running into some sort of word-filter. Which some explanation i don't mind it after all. Since i'm in crunch mode right now, i shouldn't even try to clarify anything (it probably is by now tagged under "dealt with" & i got the answer for the question anywa...

Re: Farming Hats

This is really interesting. I have a half-dozen hoppers that I threw down at the deepest part of my lake, maybe all of five blocks deep, with an airspace above them. They were intended as a temporary measure to get started on production, but they actually provide a nice income of glands and respira...

Re: Enderman trap redux

@all I understand that drops are the best way to kill them, not saws.

DNoved1: Very nice trap. I had to study it but I see now how it works. How is the efficiency/speed? Do you get a lot of scroll drops that way? And do items get caught on the iron panes?

MoRmEnGiL: I'm not sure what you mean :o

Re: Enderman trap redux

I really just care about the exp and the scroll drops. Even then, exp isn't that big a deal. Stone would be a bonus. A saw isn no good for an Endy trap, of course. The water would only be to move items after death. The drop would be the kill method.

Enderman trap redux

So there have been a few threads here on Enderman mob traps in the End. I've scoured all of these. I've also looked at Docm77's fantastic mob trap video on Youtube, and it's given me a general idea of what I want to do. The ideal setup seems to be the same drop mechanic, but with the compact and che...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.89PHILLIP)

Excited for this release FC! This will save on the waste from my mob trap a hell of a lot, which I'm sure was part of your intention. Not only that, but your changes actually make sense in terms of gameplay. Spider eyes glow in the dark? NIGHT VISION. Red shrooms poison you? POISON. It actually make...

Re: Bread in a kiln?

I'm betting the problem is that he was maybe tossing bread into the kiln by hand instead of placing it as a block? If that doesn't work, then it's not stoked. If it is stoked with blue flames and bread placed as a block doesn't cook, then there is a problem with your install somehow.

Iron beacons secondary effects?

I've got a four tier iron beacon (my mob trap is beastly) next to my main portal in the Nether, as it's nice having a usable compass there. But I've never discovered, what is the other aspect of iron beacons, that FC has mentioned? He maintains that affecting compasses is only part of it. I've done ...
