Re: Slime-proofing tips pls?

how do I mitigate slime spawns? I tend to use iron golems to keep the slime population down. They are extremely cheap after you have a basic mobtrap going and access to soul urns. I typically clean up the area I place them in so that they can't wonder off or get stuck. In more critical areas that t...

Re: Auto pottery/kiln before the End

I built a pre-end auto pottery system a couple years ago in my main world but instead of having it automatically place the pottery it in a kiln i just drop it into a hopper(i was scared I would make hundreds of vases by accident) instead of an auto kiln i built a manual kiln large enough to do batch...

Re: Show us your builds!

Just Finished my mixer for whats going to be my auto kibble factory. It mixes the ingredients in the right proportions when activated. Now I just have to finish it off by assembling the stewing pots. I wish the redstone wasn't so stuffed in their and sloppy but it wasn't worth shifting everything ov...

Re: Squid Fighting Tips

I don't think it is a bug nor does it break the immersion. The way I see it the squids don't bother wasting there energy swinging you around if they can already reach you by just swimming up to you.
edit
Just reread what Isaac wrote and that does sound weird I'm going to have to test that.

Well they definitely will swing you around if you let them but they have a harder time doing so when in shallow water.

Re: Squid Fighting Tips

I've learned a bit about squids from digging my water canals. First, avoid squids in general but if you have to be near them plan out an exit strategy in advance. If you get the squids in one block deep water, they appear to have a more difficult time latching unto you so its easier to fight them of...

Re: Secondary bases

I have recently been connecting several rivers together so that they connect to my main base. I cemented the deep sections of the water so squids can't spawn. Soon I am going to build ports which will be a big step up from my current hidey holes. The reason I am connecting the rivers is that it is f...

The Beginner's Guide (game) (SPOILERS)

Re: Subtle features you forgot are from BTW

At the time mutton was added to BTW, I would rarely read the change log. As I result, I had a thought that mutton was vanilla up until last December when I learned otherwise. I realized this when I was educating a couple friends about BTW and how it is superior to all of the mods that they play. Wel...

Re: Separating rotten flesh from glass bottles

When it comes to millstones getting clogged up with sticks. I have just finished design that automatically unclogs by using a block dispenser to suck it up and then place it back. It was really fun to build with a good amount of challenge and it fits into a single chunk. I won't spoil my design beca...

Where is Steve in his quest for automation?

It has been a good while since the hardcore changes have been added so I figure many people have started if they are not well into automating their factories. So I have been very curious of how much everyone has automated? What are you working on? What are your plans? At the moment, I am working on ...

Re: Cheating - Discussion

I used to always back up my saves so that if I hit a lag spike I wouldn't loose my stuff if I died. I no longer do that because I would always justify my bad chooses and reload the backup even if there was no lag. I have learned that by backing up my saves, I have lost a lot of game play enjoyment a...
