Oh nice the beta is playable next week. That's a good sign. Got my steam key so I'll definitely try it out.

Re: Better than Hytale
Wow looks pretty good. My kids have been playing on the Hypixel minecraft server for years. They really did a lot of neat stuff with minecraft and this video seems like they will improve on that even more.

This sounds to me like you may have a failing hard disk. Is the server rented or a system one of you owns? Try running chkdsk if it's Windows or fsck if it's Linux.

Re: Official Better Than Wolves Installation Thread
Ok, So I followed all the steps, copied the 1.5.2 folder, renamed it BTW, then renamed the json and jar files, edited the json file and added the files from minecraft on the better than wolves download into the btw.jar file. the next step, where you create a new profile using the newly created vers...

Re: Embargo Lifted! (Open Early Game Discussion)
The mining is a next level frightening experiance with so much on the line. Very few games capture the investment in early game pre storage. It is like EvE flying solo deep in null space. I'm scared to death of going deep cave mining. It's really extended my stone age as I try to get hemp and chick...

Re: Version 4.AAAAAAAAAAHHHH Spoilers in Spoilers
Sounds about right. They also only ever spit one web, making it significantly rarer which kinda makes sense since it's meant to be a bottleneck. Having a hole in your ceiling isn't as valuble as it once was. On the other hand, it's one less thing to actually do at night, which sucks. Yeah I also ha...

Regarding the spider change in AABABABA
Spoiler
Show
Seems like if they spit their web, they won't drop string when killed, otherwise they will always drop 1 string?

Re: [SPOILERS] One week of hell (Tips and suggestions of 4.A
I don't bother with food the first day. Seems to waste too much hunger IMO, trying to kill things with the pointy stick and starting fires with the fire plough. First night is boring, just waiting around for a spider to club, but I usually start day 2 with string and only 2 shanks lost. Then it's a...

Re: No audio but mod is working
You can try updating to the latest Java version. ... I would say kill your whole MC folders. All of it everywhere and start from scratch ... One trick for this is to create a batch file (RunBTW.bat) with the following contents to run the old launcher executable with a different "home" (APP...

Re: This mod is still as awesome as ever!
I just started a new world 2 weeks ago because I missed BTW. Then the new Blightfall was released so I've been stuck on that instead. I'll definitely go back to BTW once I finish cleansing the world of taint. Doing the full progression to steel and beyond is something I haven't completed yet, and so...

Re: I am beginning to believe that nether portals hate me
Last time I played BTW, I had to go over 32000 blocks to get past the ocean. I had over 4000 block tunnel in the nether, with a portal every 200 blocks where each one was either in the sky above or in a cave below the ocean. I found a mushroom island, which was cool. At one point I went 500 nether b...

Whenever I hear "realistic" regarding video games I cringe, because it usually means tedious. So that holds no interest for me.kjbrona wrote:They are going to have a more realistic inventory system so you will have to build things to help you transport materials.

Re: 7 Days to Die - and How I'm now Spoiled
I don't understand why they'd bother with gun/armor "leveling". Seems unnecessary when you already have a variety of guns & armor. Based on those stats I don't think the "hundreds of thousands of permutations of gun" will really result in any kind of gameplay variety. It'll j...

There's a hardcore hunger for wolves spoiler thread, that's where it came from.
The voodoo wasn't originally my idea, I saw it suggested elsewhere on the forums.

Spoilering because I'm referencing the spoiler thread: In the spoiler thread FC said that poo is decoupled from the new state changes. So it's probably normal to get a different amount of poo between feedings. I just use a turntable to periodically drop food, and a pressure plate where the food land...

Yeah it definitely sucks, and needs a mechanic like BTW where dying makes it the next morning. I just play hardcore because of it, and start a new world when I die.Sarudak wrote:Ok so one thing. Death spirals.

Yeah that's what I meant, though it might be without the -, so just "nogui". You probably would have seen the GUI come up if it was there.

Re: Server lag and overload problem
Wow that system should be able to run it fine, so maybe it's a messed up installation? One thing to try is adding "noconsole" to the end of the server command line (so it's an argument to the server, not an argument to the JVM). I remember that GUI console causing issues for me way back, w...

Re: 7 Days To Die: Better Than Giant Bees - 1.13 for Alpha 1
Make sense, will take a look. I've been thinking awhile that ditching bones and shanks entirely might be in order as they're a fairly useless little bump on the progression right now. While it's true that I usually skip bone shanks because I tend to have the materials for a club before I find a bon...

Really, I think the only thing that would be promoting is more fiddling with the crafting gui and inventory management as you feel obliged to strip down each individual piece of clothing you loot into cloth. Heh, I already do that whenever I find something, and there's definitely lots of clothing t...

Re: 7 Days To Die: Better Than Giant Bees - 1.13 for Alpha 1
Regarding the goldenrod tea, I've never needed it. Boiling water in tin cans is way too easy, and tin cans are everywhere. One option might be to make it so that cans of murky water don't stack, like how it is after you boil them. I don't really think a second method of boiling water is necessary th...

Wow, I'm addicted now. This is a nice challenge. Just some random thoughts on my experience: - Scavenging for food definitely gives the survival feel. I never have enough food and am constantly at or near starving. Finding a group of houses usually occurs right as I'm reaching the starving state, an...

Re: 7 Days To Die: Better Than Giant Bees - 1.13 for Alpha 1
Sorry for not being clear enough, but you answered it. I was trying to determine if not going out of my way to kill and loot zombies would put me at a disadvantage for scavenging supplies. Like if you balanced the drops expecting people to do that or not. Sounds like the answer is no, so I shouldn't...
