Re: Skyrim

I think a lot of us are saying pretty much the same thing but using slightly different language! I totally agree that the cutscreen story telling device has no place in games - games are not films and need to be treated as a medium in their own right. Close-ups in particular wind me up no end. A clo...

Re: Skyrim

I love how the first thing people discuss on these forums when a new game is out is NOT graphics. Seriously, I hate those people who judge a game solely by its looks. Hehe, if that's what you want :) The color palette has the same problem as MW3, lots of brown ;) At least it's a step up from Orange...

Re: Some new high efficiency recipes

It makes sense too. If you tear a log apart or split it with an axe, you end up with a lot of waste that isn't useful for anything but kindling. Using a saw to make clean cuts you get a lot more useful wood out of that same log. So having thought about it I really like the idea of moulding replacin...

Re: Skyrim

Games are such a diverse medium that there is room for both ways of thinking - there are plenty of great games with no real storyline - they rely solely on their gameplay and there are games with a great storyline but uninspired gameplay. It just depends what hits your switches at the time I guess! ...

Re: A Reason to grow more crops

I like the idea of encouraging the player to use more food sources as there are so many!

A simple way of achieving this would be to reduce the "satisfaction" each food gives you every time you use it, and simultaneously increase the others.

I used to think so too until they twice attempted to use public pressure to force Flowerchild to allow them to put Better Than Wolves into the yogsbox - This is a drastic over simplification of the issues, research on this forum for a complete picture ... the very trigger than made these forums exi...

Warning about the Minecon Official Trailer

The Minecon Official Trailer is out... Just to warn you that about a third of the way in, the Yogsdweebs show up and feature heavily through the rest - their horrible grating voices ruining a really good music track. If they still make you as angry as they make me - If you are still boycotting their...

I'd add Better Ore Distribution to the list too. It clumps all the ore into veins - this means that resources are tricky to find but when you find them, you build a proper mine at the site to extract them. I enjoy the extra challenge of finding the ores, it forces you out and about, exploring all th...

Re: Bamboo

I'm a little concerned that you still don't quite get it. It doesn't matter how you came up with the idea to put bamboo in (You do realise it's a grass, not a tree). Flowerchild isn't going to suddenly go - Oh, he got that idea from something I said recently, in that case, yes, we must have a way to...

Re: Power the cake... and eat the donuts.

Doesn't eating food which would overfill your hunger bar (e.g eating pork when you have only half a hunger icon empty, it is virtually full) extend the time before it starts to deplete again? In which case this would add game function by allowing you to maintain a full bar without having to wait unt...

Re: Maple trees and maple syrup! :D

Let's forget Maple Syrup, as has been pointed out, this isn't "Yet Another Food Mod" it's Better than Wolves, but as Giberreke has said, there is potential for an idea here. The thing which really caught my attention was using trees in two different ways: 1) Cutting it down for a resource ...

I would just like to say the Buddy Block is amazing, thanks FlowerChild! With reference to Nature Overhauled - If you install BTW after it, 5 classes are overwritten. The functionality you lose is mossy cobblestone no longer spreads, Fire acts as Vanilla and Grass does not spread. If you're after NO...

In a furnace, when your first plank/coal/what have you finishes burning and another begins to burn, if you're in the middle of smelting an item, will you lose your progress? No. Actually yes, you do lose all your progress. Also, just use 9 logs - I've never had a problem and you get to extinguish m...

Re: Musket

There are several reasons people are against it. 1) Too many powerful weapons in the modded game already. We already have two ranged weapons. One is instant fire, one charges. One is strong, one is weaker. One fires close with a pronounced arc, one fires far with a flatter arc. To add a third ranged...
