Re: New Release! (BTW V4.891)
I've been gone way too long... This is amazing! Everything I thought was wrong with the Vanilla enchantment table fixed in one swoop! And that weird trick with the air pockets as bonus. But no more time for talk, I want to play BTW. As a side note, the strange version number made me think this was a...

Re: Better than Horses (No Alligators please)
No, several mods have done it in the past. However, horses will indeed likely have gender, though gender in this sense doesn't necessarily mean gender in the sense of real life. Think of it more like having two different varieties of horses. I see, interesting; can't wait to see this when it comes ...

Re: Trap Doors: Have I gone too far?
The removal of trapdoor-redstone interactivity did break a few of my minor builds, but I've honestly never used any wooden vanilla object with redstone (i.e., wood doors, trapdoors, fence gates, etc.) mainly because it's always just felt weird when compared to things like iron doors. I was a little ...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
so boats are broken apparently: Saw this coming a mile off. Left shift was a good idea, but boats are now basically unusable 1.6. Furthermore, the resource-packs suck hard. As to the new mod installation process, I don't know. It seems a bit more complex than it needs to be, but I don't think it's ...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.85)
Thank you for another great update. I'm happy to see the early game finally being polished up and the mod moving back toward its original goals with the new redstone changes after fixing Mojang's numerous mistakes. With such a large release, I think I'll be doing a lot of playing today. Synthetic re...

Re: Anyone using tripwire hooks and what for?
People actually use tripwire hooks? I don't think I've ever even crafted one. What makes them so much better than other redstone input devices (namely pressure plates)?
I understand the pre-anvil item detection thing, but what are you using item detection for before getting an anvil?

Re: Beware of zombies with spoons . . .
I'm an idiot. It appears Mojang fixed the blast radius changing between difficulties as a bug/exploit back in MC 1.3.1. I really should have tested this with uniform surrounding blocks.RalphKastro wrote:actually the only thing that changes in explosions on hard mode is the damage to entities, not the blast radious

Re: Beware of zombies with spoons . . .
I only ever play on normal, and that's all I balance for. So, whatever you're getting on hard is just whatever random stuff Mojang has tweaked for their hard mode. In other words: don't feel guilty playing on normal given that as far as I am concerned, it's all that exists. I've been tempted on man...

Re: What brightness do you play at?
Strangely enough, on my monitor, the difference between Bright and Moody is not great in terms of actually being able to see things at light level zero. Either way, I can generally see just about everything. I always keep it on Bright because I personally think blocks and such look better to me on t...

Re: Having trouble installing BTW v4.84
I'm sorry if I came off as rude before, I was just rather annoyed and didn't have time for an installation tutorial. I've already figured out the issue; because I'm on a Mac, the "net" folder that's in the BTW folder was overwriting the net folder in the minecraft.jar, which is essential ...

Re: Having trouble installing BTW v4.84
I really don't know what could be causing this, but I'm guessing that there is some form of file corruption or install-specific issues going on. Here's what I would do (and I know you know most if not all of this already, but at least you can keep track of what you're doing): 1. Force Update Minecra...

Re: Better Wolves Spoiler thread
I think the howling is significant somehow, more than just being creepy. Maybe that's how the wolves turn- they hear the howls of The Beast and it changes them. Worth looking into, anyway. In my own testing, the only way I could get wolves to turn into the Beast was by feeding them rotten flesh. Al...

MC 1.7 a biome/ocean update? Apparently even further major screwing with world generation is now deemed necessary. More mobs and especially ones that are artificially difficult? Of course.
I don't know if it really will be "before July," but it looks like MC 1.6 is coming up on us fast.

Well, the ayl.class is the GUI Container Class file (assuming you are on BTW v4.84), so I am actually rather surprised that the game is working. At any rate, this is likely going to cause quite a number of issues with BTW blocks and such which have inventories that can be opened by the player. Anywa...

There's a reason why Optifine is used by so many in the Forge community. Risu is Risugami, the maker of Modloader, who has also made some of the only mods remaining that use Modloader.

As you know, BTW is pretty well the best mod out there in terms of gameplay depth and extent added.
