Re: Reference for Buddy Block Use
The only one that'd be useful to me would be useful would be the repeater changing, as that would essentially turn the repeater into a swanky four-way lever if combined simply with a 4bit memory cell, but that's already possible with a button and four redstone lamps and I think I recall the suggest...

Re: Reference for Buddy Block Use
And IIRC nether wart does trigger one, but I suppose I could easily be wrong. Just did some extensive tests. Mojang wiped this when they wiped wheat, carrots, and potatoes to kill the BUD switch farm. <cringes at the inevitable spam of update requests> :) I was actually surprised to see how many st...

Reference for Buddy Block Use
I have recently been building a number of circuits using buddy blocks, and thought it might be useful to other circuit-builders to know what block updates and state changes they are capable of detecting. Further, FC is currently allowing suggestions for making certain block updates detectable by the...

Re: Testificate career change?
I've never heard of this before. This honestly just shouldn't happen. But, then again, there was that guy whose spawn suddenly shifted thousands of block. This is likely a rare vanilla bug that no one has reported because it doesn't really matter in vanilla. It doesn't sound likely, but are you sure...

-Fixed problem with wood shovels giving you piles. I laughed pretty hard at this one, I've got to admit. Okay, so, on topic: first, the new look of the different stone strata is actually surprisingly good, especially when the strata are next to each other in caves. I haven't noticed any issues yet ...

Re: Large VS Normal Biome Observations
That's not really true. I have found iron in temples. Finding iron and diamonds in a temple is a huge boon and requires only stone picks to get to the loot. Then you just need to kill a few creepers (stone axes suffice) and you skip all the way from the stone age to diamond tools. It is definitely ...

Re: [Fresh Start] Friendly Coop BTW Server ! [v4.71]
Hey, Ryoloth? Would you mind if I joined your little clan out in the desert? I'm getting tired of getting killed in the little frozen bay south of spawn. I can do whatever you guys need me to do out there. As a side note, though, are there any restrictions on what/where I should build?

Re: Minecraft origin in new location
If you use the link I posted above, that program can easily correct this issue if you know the coordinates of your original spawn. All you have to do is unzip the download, run the program, browse through your files to find the world save of the map you are using on the server, and then open the lev...

Re: Minecraft origin in new location
What exactly is your problem? I assume that compasses are not pointing to the correct spot. Do you have any beacons that could be causing this? Where are you spawning on death? If it is hard to tell if you are spawning around the correct or incorrect spawn point, you may need to temporarily disable ...

Re: Enchanting new armors on the infernal enchanter
I'm actually getting this too. It makes sense for the wool and padded armor, but the fact that you can't enchant chain or tanned leather left me scratching my head. The weirdest part, though, is that you can enchant all this stuff normally in the vanilla enchanter. I hesitate to say this is a bug, b...

Re: Large VS Normal Biome Observations
I'm pretty sure I've found bread in the temple. That wasn't Dave's point, though. He means that you'll never find something in a temple that will propel you further down the tech tree. There aren't any wheat seeds and there isn't any dung, and certainly no wolf. Bread is nice, but it won't keep you...

I had read /loc in the release thread of whatever version hardcore info was introduced, but for some reason it didn't click that it could be used in single player. Thanks for the heads up. Just make sure that you have "cheats" on, even if you have to manually enable it by starting an LAN ...

Re: Do villages become abandoned - Possible Spoiler
Don't forget villages can be overrun by zombies. Is it possible the one in question was annihilated rather than spawning as abandoned? Well, it should be pretty simple to tell. Zombies cannot destroy the water source blocks in the fields around a village, which will not be present if the village wa...

Re: [WIP][128x][Texture Pack] AnimCraft
Ah, yes the sparks, been thinking about it and rather than actually making a new particle effect it would really only be an animated texture with a single pixel (thats coloured properly) moving from the blaze rod to the 'end' of the image boarder. Thus hopefully giving the effect of the rod sparkin...

Re: Anyone else having issues with 1.5 crafting?
I find that it actually is pretty convenient, using it just requires a great level of skill to get the speed and clicking precision right. However... yeah... once in a while, when I need something crafted quickly, it can get really annoying.

Re: Do villages become abandoned - Possible Spoiler
Newly generated villages determine if they ought to be abandoned based on the original spawn, so using an SFS beacon should NOT cause any abandoned villages to generate around it unless it happens to also be near enough to the spawn point for that to happen anyways.

Re: Coal block
I agree with DNoved. I doubt FlowerChild will do anything to the coal block, just as he didn't do anything with the redstone block in 1.5. I would honestly be more worried about something coming from Mojang's end at this point. There have been rumors that they might just do something about the curre...

Re: Large VS Normal Biome Observations
In my experience, Large Biomes actually makes the game harder. You are right, however, that spawning conditions for villages and temples are more ideal in Large Biomes. It really comes down to the biome where you initially spawn. I personally feel that neither is really better than the other to play...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of April 29th)
The idea of stratified stone sounds very interesting. I can't wait to see the test/final version arrive. I guess I should save questions for then, but I wonder if there will be multiple stratifications of stone , or just a division between iron-minable and stone/wood-minable.

I have to agree that this is probably just an arbitrary game element added for balance and gameplay reasons, but thinking like that takes all the fun out of speculating! Anyways, I don't think that they could be plants, as the amount of energy required for movement is much too high to be sustained b...

Yes, v4.70 requires MC 1.5.1 and Modloader 1.5.1.
