Re: Fire Plough still not working on servers
My friend just went through 2 1/2 fire ploughs and we are playing on a ABCEEEEF server. It seems to happen to my friend the most. I am running the server on my machine. Let me know if you need more info.

BTW Installer?
Hey guys, I wanted to start some dialogue around a possible BTW installer. I don't have any experience with this kind of programming and would be involved with the project strictly as a financial backer :) Has anyone attempted this before? I could imagine with the great minds that tend to frequent t...

Re: Embargo Lifted! (Open Early Game Discussion)
Ha ha, I am long past the point of despair. I don't know if I have ever had a storage fire problem. Also, I shortly thereafter got killed by a bovine launched kamikaze creeper, that hit the side of my base... I'm going to the bar, not sure if the bar tender will really be able to relate to my woes, ...

Re: Embargo Lifted! (Open Early Game Discussion)
Are fires from clay ovens supposed to spread to wood, then to wicker baskets, and then vaporize 2 iron ingots along with the feeble tatters of sanity that I had left? Wicker was already feeling painful to get (at least in my current world) and utilize, now that it functions as a potential atom smash...

Brutality Check (Hard Spoilers)
Hey guys, Hope everyone is doing well! I have been playing the new BTW all weekend but I never made it past basic campfire in around 10-15 runs. I believe it may have just been a lot of bad luck, but the experience was extremely brutal. I am probably missing something vital in the process but wanted...

Steam Sale Season
Hey BTW crew! I hope everyone has been doing great. I stop in every week or so to see what you are all up to, but figured I would drop a line since it is steam sale season. Picked up some of the pop-culture games that I have missed out on through out the last few months; Fallout and Doom being the b...

Re: Is your old Minecraft launcher not working? Fix it here!
This was really helpful. Thank you all. As a note for getting it to work with the MCPatcher, you need to point the original to the regular 1.5.2 jar, and have it output to the folder and jar that you created using the youtube video. It was relatively painless once I figured that out.

It's been a while. I hope everyone is doing well! I converted 2 brand new players to BTW a few weeks ago and we have been playing a lot over the past few weeks. Both of them had never played minecraft at all and they are loving everything. (FC, I really wish you could hear these guys play the game, ...

Re: Games suitable for kids
Scribblenauts is a great game for kids just learning to spell if you have a little time to help them to being with. My daughter (7 years old) improved her spelling by several grade levels playing this game over the past two years or so, and had a blast the whole time. My favorite thing that she has ...

Bone meal and errata
I wanted to get this in before someone blows it for everyone again. I have had a couple things I wanted to share about my playing habits. Bone meal fertilizer; I never use it. This may just be nooby play style or just plain laziness, but I am content to just wait for my crops to grow rather than exp...

Re: Team Mechanic for HC Spawn
I like this a lot! If I am able to assist with their journey back to base, I hope it will encourage my more social friends to play on my HCS server. HCS is my favorite BTW feature but sadly it is a feature that makes co-op play very difficult and has prevented several of my friends from getting in t...

Re: Hardcore Looting
I like the idea, but I have no idea how it would feel. I like just about all the changes that make the game feel more dwarf fortressy. However, this sounds like a complicated matter. Also, FC probably has a simpler solution that will take care of the root issue at some point. Wanted to chime in, hap...

Re: 4.71 Gameplay Balance Discussion Thread (READ RULES OR B
One more game observation that feels funny. The amount of wood that it takes to tan leather feels off. I crammed what felt to be an actual house's worth of oak wood into my cauldron to make my chest-piece. Also, hardcore bouncing + a Steve sized hole in the bedrock can make for an interesting and em...

Re: 4.70 Gameplay Balance Discussion Thread (READ RULES OR B
I was definitely exaggerating with 3 hits. It just feels like that when a horde of zombies shows up for some surprise sex and you start swinging like Helen Keller in a cage fight with Andy Dick. I feel like I need some kinda go-go-gadget ax dispenser on my wrists. Like Wolverine, but with more flann...

Re: 4.70 Gameplay Balance Discussion Thread (READ RULES OR B
So far I am really liking the new updates. Work has been brutal and I was a few updates behind. I now have several days of 4.7 under my belt and have come to enjoy the changes. I did not initially embrace the stone tool rework with alacrity, but have now arrived at the fifth stage of grief and it is...

Re: 4.64 Balance Observations & Discussion
I really like the coal changes and the feeling of needing to go outside to chop fire wood to fuel my pre coal furnaces. It could still be nerfed more in my opinion, but I am thinking along the lines of how happy you are when you find bituminous coal in dwarf fortress, so perhaps this is too brutal f...

Re: 4.62 Balance Observations & Discussion
I was thinking more for fertilizer options, but with that point having been made, I suppose it would not make sense to have 2 types of feces in a game, haha. Then we would have to have a shit organization system, which is really not how I like to spend my computer gaming time.

Re: 4.62 Balance Observations & Discussion
My impression of the past few patches; I love where the balance changes are taking the game and hope for more nerfs and expansions on, and tweaks for the survival processes. Observations: Food is still easy to get, I feel like, (strike that) I am abusing the system when I cram 2000 cows into a 5X5 p...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.62)
I wanted to stop by and let you know I have been plying BTW for almost a year and have loved it. HCH's mechanics a...

I resolved the issue. I am not sure if it was just coincidence, but my network IP changed and ports were not being forwarded. This ended up being the problem. Thanks for anyone that attempted to solve the issue and sorry for the inconvenience.

Problems rolling back to 1.4.7
While I was at work a few days ago, my kid updated MC to 1.5, :(. I really want to play the update so I have been trying to get everything rolled back. I think I have successfully rolled back MC to 1.4.7 using the old JAR in my .minecraft bin folder and I can connect to single player with the update...
