Re: Frequent HC spawns result in missing health/hunger/more
When you die shortly after hardcore spawning and respawn in the same location instead of spawning far away you spawn with lowered health and hunger levels. This is an intentional feature added to make sure that it is never advantageous to intentionally kill yourself. I'm not sure about the swimming ...

Re: New Release! (BTW 4.ABCFEFE) - NO SPOILERS
Thanks for all of the bug fixes! A lot of these were longstanding vanilla problems which I had just sort of accepted as part of the game so I'm surprised and excited to see them finally going away.

Re: automate making of cobblestone and brickstone?
As far as I know there's no way to get the mortared versions of cobblestone, bricks, stone bricks, and nether bricks into your inventory except by using a silk touch pick. This unfortunately means that for now the cool endgame subblock recipes for those block types are mostly inaccessible. That bein...

Re: New Release! (BTW 4.ABCFAFBFC) - NO SPOILERS
I started playing around with the new loose nether bricks and I discovered that nether sludge can be used as mortar. This is excellent news to me because unlike clay which has to be dug out of river beds and slimeballs which require risking a gelatinous death to gather, nether sludge can be mass man...

Smoothstone Siding vs Stone Bricks
A block of smoothstone can be split into four stone bricks with a chisel or two pieces of stone siding with a soulforge. This means that the alternate stone siding recipes for many blocks are now more expensive than the corresponding stone brick recipes which are available much earlier in the tech t...

Making Charcoal in the Kiln
With the new changes to log fire mechanics and the enhanced kiln cook times, whenever I attempt to make charcoal in the kiln the log catches on fire and converts to cinders before it can cook all the way. I can't even put the fire out by punching it since fires can no longer be extinguished by hand.

I just tested out the new stake functionality and I have to say, that was an extremely cool and creative way to make them a more useful measuring tool without breaking immersion.

Silk Touch and Clay Deposits
I'm not sure whether this really qualifies as a bug or more of a feature that doesn't exist so I'm posting it in this subforum instead of the bug reports one. Using a silk touch shovel or a block dispenser on the new clay deposit block (the dirt block with a clay colored ore texture on it) results i...

Packed Earth
Prior to version 4.AAAAAAAAAAHHHH packed earth was a great midgame material for building roads. It was extremely cheap to produce, let you walk at top speed, and served as an excellent sink for all the dirt you end up accumulating as you construct other projects. I used to build roads out of it all ...

Placing bricks in the desert doesn't make them cook any faster but it does make them much more likely to cook to completion as they won't be reset by the rain

Re: Version 4.AAAAAAAAAAHHHH Spoilers in Spoilers
On a few stone blocks: You can get regular cobblestone and bricks in the world by placing the loose versions and then adding clay to serve as mortar. I haven't figured out how to get them back into my inventory though (which is actually a big problem because it means I still can't use them to build...

A seed where you spawn deep in the ocean
I'm not sure if this qualifies as a bug or if it's just part of the general vagaries of vanilla minecraft spawn mechanics but on the seed 5475293218251534410 you spawn deep underwater in the ocean. I was immediately eaten by hats

Re: The Feature Request / Suggestion Thread - LIMITED TIME O
While we're talking about lightning, I feel like it loses its danger in the mid game. In the early game a major storm forces you to stay indoors because it gets so dark that mobs start spawning outside but once you've built yourself a nicely lit up walled homestead that ceases to be an issue and the...
