Re: New Release! (BTW V4.80)

I watched IcyNewYear's video and everything looks amazing. I personally LOVE the textures of stone in the deeper stratas.

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.67)

After taking a short break from Minecraft in general, I'm glad to see such a great update to welcome me back with open arms. Thank you very much and keep up the good work!

Re: Happy BTW day everyone!

Even though I haven't been around since the beginning, I would like to say congrats and thanks to FlowerChild and the community. For the last couple of years I have experimented around with many different mods, but the only one that I can consistently return to to have an amazing time is BTW. It has...

Re: Any reason for no torchlight?

I thought about this, but I have seen similar things done in plenty of other games. I guess im just out of my league here and don't know what im talking about :)

Any reason for no torchlight?

Let me start off by saying that this is *not a suggestion, but is simply a question as to why a feature has not been implemented in vMC. My question is why do torches not give off light when held in the hand. From a developing stand point, how hard would this be to implement? I can imagine that a mo...

Re: 4.64 Balance Observations & Discussion

1 log = 4 planks = 16 high efficiency sticks = 8 burned items. (+ saw dust, if that burns) >/= coal So yeah, exploit. So that would essentially make them equally as efficient as charcoal, but only once you have a saw. I now see this as a problem because the saw comes before the kiln in the tech tre...

Re: 4.64 Balance Observations & Discussion

I think It's more efficient to use high efficiency sticks than planks, you get 1 bonus unit of smelting time per two planks I think. Exploit! It does kinda make sense that by "chopping" the wood into smaller pieces, you create more surface area and allow more oxygen to feed the fire, impr...

Re: 4.64 Balance Observations & Discussion

On the topic of pumpkins vs fishing, I think I am going to have to side with Ulfengaard. If you consider the problem in terms of the early game, farming pumpkins for food requires you to settle down permanently. Fishing, on the other hand, is an easy source of food wherever water is present. I guess...

Re: Deserted village merged with desert pyramid

I do not think this is a result of FC's modifications to world gen. I started a new world in 4.62 and found a desert village within 20 blocks of a desert temple, and a desert well was about 10 blocks from the villages actual well. I think the clustering of naturally generated structures is simply ju...

I can't help but cringe at all the ways gameplay will be more difficult from now on. However, in the back of my mind I know that these changes will produce an overall better experience. But still, damn... Am I a bigger or smaller tease if I say the something something is the first step in my epic br...

I can agree that I have never really had a problem obtaining obsidian. For me the new desert temples are more of a convenience than a huge find that devalues obsidian.

Re: 4.62 Balance Observations & Discussion

I look forward to what you end up doing in RTH to make mining both a valued activity and hopefully an interesting one. I think this was done very well in Terraria through the amount of things that can be found while mining. In Minecraft, there are abandoned mine shafts, dungeons, and mob spawners, ...

Re: Mushrooms

I'm not an expert, but one tip I will add is when you harvest your mushrooms, leave more than one. The spreading of mushrooms is exponential, and if you leave 10 after harvesting your farm you will get much more output in less time than if you only left 2.

Is it possible that with the addition of the iron nuggets in BTW, my earlier suggestion of filtering iron out of dirt or gravel could now become valid? I ask simply because I would hate to see BWR die out.

Well that solves my mooshroom dilemma from the earlier release... And about the iron, my zombie spawner farm now has a much more practical use as an iron farm considering its output was just multiplied times nine. Thanks for the update!

Nah, it's fine. I'm planning to do the same thing to hunger actually, in the release following the next one. At present, there are items I'd like to make edible, but they're far too common to warrant a half hunger-pip in value (flowers are one example that Dave brought up), so I'll be increasing th...
